Strand Beach View House

James is a lovely Host, he tried to go above and beyond to help with our complaints and did all he could to try and correct- sadly there was too many. Location is fabulous (beach is about a 5min drive and a 15 min walk over the dual carriageway)

Sadly we couldn’t gain entry at 6.30pm for considerable duration, due to not being given the entry codes - on the day of check. The house doesn’t offer beachfront and the description of the house and the room we stayed in (ground floor King Room) needs updating drastically. We had a spacious room but still had a double bed, that wasn’t at all comfortable and the bedding didn’t match. The curtains were hanging up on the rail by a few hooks and we had one pillow each. The property is in need of a good refurb and some real tlc. Not at all a place to take a child. This is more a place for lodging or students. The house was full of men and being given a room without a shower, off from the kitchen, meant me and my daughter had to shower upstairs, which made us very uncomfortable and a few times had to walk past other male guests. We didn’t have a mirror, wardrobe or any pictures and plants as stated in the description. We had no Tv, toilet roll or hand wash - to start with on the Friday (but James came after 1hr and 45mins to bring these :). Sadly James’s didn’t bring the remote, so the tv was unusable. James did come the following evening with a new tv and remote and had set it up for us, but due to the time, we wasn’t able to watch anything. The back garden wasn’t in any state you would or could sit out in and there was no sign of a hot tub. Breakfast is only cereal (cornflakes) - so not at all continental (very very light) and wasn’t appetising as the boxes had been left open and the fruit had fruit flies - so we never ate here. The other lodgers put their washing machine on very late, which disrupted our sleep and there was no fridge space to put out water or fruits in (due to other lodgers taking up capacity- it felt they lived at the accommodation due to what was in the fridge). Parking is available at a first come first served basis (as you share with the street. This is chargeable daily at £2.50, but James gave us two days free (due to the complaints)

We did not have any meals, we had our son near. Only some fruit.

This is not a hotel it is the lowest guest house. It should not be on your web site. No one to greet us. No idea how to get in. Had to phone him. He said he emailed me but my mobile does not work in UK for emails. I can only telephone.

The host was very friendly and hospitable. The rooms/kitchen were very clean and nice. The location is exceptional. Walking distance to Gillingham rail station, superstore, Gillingham town.

Everything was awesum as my beyond expectation.
