Isola Bella Luxury View

The location was stunning. The check in experience was painless. The jacuzzi is in a great spot. The air con was cold and no issues with neighbours. Yes there are some stairs but the trade-off is worth it. I feel sorry for the suckers who pay 2k a night for a “deluxe room” at the four seasons. So close to beach. Plenty of nice lidos and beach clubs nearby. La Plage lidos were the best and the staff were all super friendly except their beach restaurant service was atrocious, so maybe plan to eat elsewhere if you spend a day on the beach. And the best pizza/pasta dine in or take away is just downstairs the one that has a seperate gelato section, we went 2 nights in a row it was that good.

The smallish double beds but standard for Italy. We gave up trying to find a driver who would pick us up or drop us off at the top entrance - the taxi drivers want to extract as much cash off tourists for the least amount of effort. We literally got told to “stop talking” when attempting to show drivers the video of where to go. Not a fault of the property, was actually quite amusing. Sicilian hospitality can be very warm or cold. Just take the stairs and get some exercise ! Also the coastal bus was surprisingly easy to use when we couldn’t find a cab to get to the train station.

The property was very comfortable and clean. The host was excellent meeting us on arrival, showing us to our appt and resolved an issue with the WiFi very quickly. The appt kitchen has everything (apart from a microwave) that you need to do any cooking, although we choose to eat out! The views from the appt are beautiful, with the sea just in front of you.

There are quite a few steps down to the road or up to the car park, which if you have mobility issues that would be a problem.

The place looks like in the photos. One apartment (the one with 3 large double beds) is at floor 3 with the jacuzzi at floor 5, where there is a very big terrace, while the other I assume to be at floor 4. The apartment i booked was perfect for 6-7 people and we enjoyed our stay. We would come back. The communication with the host has very good. She helped us with our problems encountered in the first night, provided luggage transport from Taormina bus station to the accommodation and helped us book a taxi for early in the morning for our departure.

There were some issues on the first night: there was no hot water, there were mosquitos as the apartment doesn’t have nets at windows/balcony and the jacuzzi wasn’t heating over 23 degrees Celsius. We contacted Veronica and she sent someone the next day to fix the hot water and the jacuzzi. He also brought us a spray for the mosquitos. Overall the issues were solved quickly and didn’t impact our stay that much, but they were worth mentioning.

Die Ausstattung ist runtergekommen (Dusche schimmelt, Lampen kaputt, WC-Spülung läuft, Kühlschrank tropft, Betten unbequem), Küche schlecht ausgestattet und schmutzig (Tassen mit Teerändern, Backofen nicht geputzt)

Die Wohnung war super! Das Haus wirkte relativ neu. Der Blick auf Isola Bella und Meer sind der Wahnsinn. Vielen Dank an den Hausmeister Allessandro, der uns immer freundlich geholfen hat, wenn wir Rat und Tat benötigten. Ich möchte höflich raten, die Leute auf die Topography hinzuweisen. Ich sag mal so von der Straßenseite braucht man keinen Stepper. 80 Stufen bis zum Hauseingang und dann nochmal 4 Etagen sind eine sportliche Herausforderung. Mit dem Auto kommt man an die Rückseite des Hauses. Eine Verbesserungsvorschlag dazu: Ggf. einen Hinweis, wie man an das Haus von hinten herankommt wäre hilfreich. Vielleicht hab ich es aber auch nur überlesen, wir haben den Weg am Ende gefunden. Vom Hintereingang muss man nur ein Stockwerk hinabsteigen. Das geht, aber für Leute mit Handycap könnte die Wohnung ggf. problematisch sein.

Beyond that, it’s a disappointment. 3 of 4 air conditioners do not work properly, there is something wrong with the electric causing lights to sometimes not work in 3 rooms including kitchen, and hot tub doesn’t get warm. The host did send someone to check things but all they did is turn on ac, verify there is air by holding their hand up, then say it’s working. It was air, not cold air. They did fix the lights. They were not all working on arrival and tripped another time causing a reset down at the street. House temp for our stay was between 26-28c/82-86F. We had some windows open because it’s so warm and were blamed for that being the reason why the ac isn’t working. We then closed everything and ran the 4 ac units for a few hours at night- house is still 28c/86F. We were awake and doing normal things like making coffee and using the bathroom on the first morning here. The wife in apartment downstairs blamed us for stomping around being loud. We apologized even though we were not being loud. When we got back from dinner later that night The husband ran up to us on the stairs, got in our face yelling at us (a group of women) and pushed one of us. Other reviews have similar issues. Hot tub was not clean and also doesn’t work. Again the host gaslights you saying it needs more time to warm up, you don’t know how to use it etc. A person came to turn hot tub up to 40c, we waited a few hours, max temp it ever reached was 34c/93F. Standard hot tub temp is minimum of 38c. It’s not warm Enough to use in its current condition. Would not recommend this place and was a very disappointing stay overall. Complained to booking.com when no problems were resolved who initiated a refund request; owner refused. Booking.com gave me some money back due to my poor experience.
