Serenity by the Sea Ultimate Beachfront Escape

Beautifully remodeled. Everything is brand new inside. Great kitchen. Lots of beach stuff in garage to use. Huge garage space. Amazing bathrooms!!

Property next door was run down with garbage everywhere. Homeless population near by across the street. Two fans didn’t work well or at all and with no AC it was warm. No patio furniture.

Tastefully appointed. Clean and well stocked with kitchen equipment. Close to the beach

Only one ceiling fan remote worked out of four The setting had to be accepted on the rest. This included lighting. Surprised that there were only 4 dining chairs when the property sleeps 6. An outdoor table and/or lounge would take advantage of the large balcony. A salad bowl or 2 and a salad spinner would be helpful .

This property has nice views of the ocean. The garage is big, which allows plenty of space for your beach toys and other items.

The host for this property is extremely unreliable and unresponsive. They promised to send the check-in information 24 hours prior to our arrival at the unit, but I had seen from other reviews that they often fail to do this. Sure enough, I got no messages from them the day prior to our check-in. Ultimately, I had to reach out to them multiple times on the day of our arrival to get the door code and other details. Very disappointing. This same lack of professionalism occurred when I tried to get my $1,000 deposit back after our stay. They promised to refund my deposit 24-48 hours after we checked out. After a week of waiting, I reached out and asked them the status. I got various excuses, but they still weren't refunding my deposit. Finally, after lots of follow up and reminders, they finally sent it to me. I'm not sure they would've sent the refund to me at all.

The ants and the cockroach weren’t welcome. Driveway was quite tight and hard to see. Some lighting or other marking would have helped. Some porch furniture would have been nice. Great space but no where to sit. The light on the fan over the table didn’t work and the fan on the light in the middle bedroom couldn’t be turned off separately from the fan. The management company was less than stellar. I had to contact them on arrival in Honolulu for the door code, receiving the response that “we need the deposit before we can give you that information” (the deposit was sent, received and verified by email 6+ weeks prior). Did get the information after several more texts verifying money was sent. Then it took over a week of back and forth to get my deposit refunded. Not impressed.

Spacious, comfortable, good beds and water pressure. Great spot opposite a beach. Great spot for driving to North Shore or down south. We drove to the Lanikai Pillbox Box walk one day but most days drove to the North Shore Beaches. Swam jn the beach over the road. Usually had it to ourselves. No complaints about the house. We were there in October and is was fine with the fans supplied and doors open.

Only reason place didn’t get a ten was because we did not receive check-In notification until after 4pm on the day we were checking in. I rang the number on Booking.con multiple times with no answer. Eventually had to call Booking.com customer services who agreed we had not received notification and could not contact owner either. Eventually we had an email and got in but the stress spoilt the checkin process

The location is exceptional. Look off the front porch to the most beautiful sunrises ever seen, directly across the street from the beach.

A few things needing maintenance, addressed by the facilities quickly. No AC, but normal for much of the island. Open up the house and let the breeze do the work.
