The One Resort Zanzibar

Like the hotels it was comfortable and was very helpful the staff

The beach was not to clean as I expected n not many beach activities there

We were looking for a resort to disconnect and rest after our safari and decided on The One after reading food reviews. The resort is great value for money. While a bit smaller than usual resorts it gives you the comfort and peace we were looking for. It wasnt full which made it even better. Need a sunbed? No problem. Enough sunbeds available any time of the day. Swimming pools were really nice and never crowded. Kids didnt want to go anywhere else. Breakfast was good and dinner had a "theme" every night, Aisian, Italian, Polish, Tanzanian always something to choose from even for picky kids. Prices for beer were normal for a beach resort 4-5usd for beer, 7usd for a cocktail. Entertainment was just enough as we wanted to rest more or less. Some sports like beach volley, football or water aerobics and artistic performances at dinner. Rooms are big, nice and clean with mosquito nets and great AC.

Tides affect the swimming in the sea. There is really nothing in the immidiate sorrunding. No restaurants or shops, just other hotels. But this means no people offering tours or selling suvenirs as happens in Nungwi and Kendwa. Bed is on the firm side but nothing too bad. All in all one of the best price performance hotels I ever been to.

Breakfast could have more health food options Drink order to pool area takes to long and sometimes misunderstanding (due to lack of english knowledge) Tours are to expensive (better organize yourself) Sea is most of the time on low tide during the day and therefore impossible to swim (nothing to do with the hotel generally the same on the east cost) Shisha is not good

Good breakfast and dinner were inclusive. Nice beach mostly suitable for walking because water was too shallow to swim. Good pools at resort. Friendy staff. They had some activities in evenings.

Check in was confusing because person talked too much and we had to sign some (weird) document which i've never seen at hotels. Anyway after that all went smoothly. Shower and sinks are semi-open consept. I was ok with that, but some quests may see that abit embarrassing.

I like the view, the pool and bar facilities were awesome. The staff was extremely attentive with all requests and professional. The food was also good.

It is important to note that the location of the resort is a bit outside from the common places such as Paje and Michamvi so you will need to travel and pay a transfer to see those places.
