Upper Yard Borris House

Close to Castle!!, Rooms spotless. Bed soooo comfy. Warm. Loads of space for parking. We love Borris. Did I mention it was close to Castle lol, 🤣

I didn't like the fact that we were only staying one night!!

Staff were friendly, room was very nice and we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of Borris village. There were plenty of places to go for a walk close by and the traditional pubs in the village were great. We also stopped in Osbournes in Rathana after a hike up Mount Leinster.

The heritage of the house and grounds are very impressive. The room at Uppperyard was comfortable and quiet at night. The entrance through the gate lodge and the horses in field beside our room really added to our experience.

We had a wonderful night away in Borris. We stayed in the Upperyard and really enjoyed the authentic experience. We drove from Dublin and was a pleasant drive. Borris House is marvellous and a sight to behold. Luckily we were greeted by Morgan on entering the grounds. He helped get us get checked in and gave us some tips on places to go while in the area. We visted the Nine Stones (Mount Leinster) and Altamont Garden before returning to Borris to have a delicious meal in the Step House.

The grounds of Borris House are like a movie set. The gardens, the horses and sheep really add to the charm. We stayed in double room and was ideal for our stay. The walk over Borris Viaduct through village was picturesque and lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Great location for a night away. The grounds are majestic and the entrance gate into Borris House is worth the drive alone (1.5 hours from Dublin). After walking by River Barrow, we enjoyed a dinner in Clashganny House and then some drinks in Joyce's. We were invited to return to Joyces the next morning, where we got some coffee and fresh pastries from Plur bakery. We returned to Dublin happy out.

The grounds of Borris House are incredible if you like nature. Access to the River Barrow and we also hiked Mount Leinster the following day. We stayed in Upperyard and rooms were lovely. Nice decor and great shower. Clean, warm and comfortable.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Borris House for one night, and it was a delightful experience. The property itself is stunning, steeped in history and set amidst beautiful gardens that provide a tranquil atmosphere. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the comfortable bedding and tea/coffee and biscuits provided. The hosts were warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They provided excellent recommendations for local dining and attractions all in walking distance, which enhanced our stay. Borris House is a perfect blend of comfort and charm, making it an ideal spot for anyone looking to escape for a night or two. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!

The setting was very nice and the room nicely furnished. Large bathroom.

We didn't feel they were really ready for guests. We had a very bad nights sleep due to various issues which i wont go into but which were addressed by the hosts appropriately at the time and post stay. This accomadation was quite expensive compared to other properties we stayed at but it lacked things that it should have had for the money and which cheaper properties provided - for instance there were a few basic tea bags and coffee sachets rather than a nice selection of teas and quality coffee. The booking.com website said there would be biscuits or chocolate- there wasn't. No breakfast facilities either but a lovely hotel close by did a very good cooked breakfast. We went to a nearby hotel for breakfast. Borris house twin room is overpriced for what you get I'm afraid.

This booking is absolutely outstanding. Each bedroom was perfect, the staff were wonderful and so helpful leading up to the booking. There isn’t a bad thing I could say about this booking. Safe to say we will be returning again☺️
