The Plough Inn Leitholm

The location, the ease and relaxing atmosphere and the general feel of the accommodation, very good hospitality. A well equipt room with some quirky extras, loved the soft bathroom towels.

Lovely warm welcome from both Sarah and David. It’s clear that they value the customer journey as they were keen to ensure we had everything we needed. Lots of lovely touches like fresh milk for our room, a nice coffee machine in the room and it was comfortable and nicely furnished. The bar was immaculate and a good range of drinks to choose from. The food…..was sublime. Cooked fresh by Sarah it was clear that they take pride in local, good quality produce. I had fish and chips and my wife had poached haddock. Cooked to perfection and plentiful. We were tempted to try the desserts and I had Fays sticky toffee pudding. (Fay being one of the servers) - one word - incredible! And Fay was a delight! The wife had Sarah’s homemade tiramisu which she had to stop herself licking the bowl clean! Plenty of choice for the freshly made breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Both Sarah and David were easy going and so friendly. It’s obvious that their love and attention to detail just emanate. Easy to find, easy to park our motorbikes and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and indeed, stay again! A real gem of a find after a long day riding.

It’s so far away we may not get to stay again for some time!

Food was good and service excellent. Room, whilst not large was well appointed with much attention to detail.. Molton Brown toiletries and coffee/tea/hot chocolate etc. Bed was very comfortable too

Unfortunately beer garden was closed until 530pm, which was a shame on a rare sunny Saturday

Good hosts. Good pub food. Great breakfast. We stayed in the Thomson room, unfortunately the window was painted over and wouldnt open, reported to landlord who said he would sort out that morning, he didnt, so 2nd night of hot room with window dripping with condensation and no air also def. Fire hazard as not poss to get window open, def. Needs addressing.

We liked the friendly welcome and the relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent. The room was lovely and clean and had everything that we needed and the beds were so comfortable. I will certainly visit again and recommend to family and friends.we could not find fault witH

We could not find fault with any aspect of our stay. Our hosts were so genuine and obviously worked hard to make our stay into a memorable occasion.

Staying here was a wonderful experience. Delightful hosts and first class facilities in a heritage building at a reasonable price relative to other options. There’s not much else in the area and you do need a car but there is free parking.
