Uros Samaraña Uta Lodge

Everything! César, Lucy & Eddie work very hard to make sure their guests have a great stay. We certainly did. The casas are very comfortable with amazing views over beautiful Lake Titicaca and each has a sit-out area with deck chairs and a day bed. The food was delicious and plentiful and César even supplied hot water bottles for the slightly chilly nights even though the casas are well-heated. There’s plentiful hot water in the bathroom. Don’t miss the visit to a nearby island during which César describes how the floating islands are constructed and explains the culture of the people of the Uros. He gives a genuine and heartfelt insight. This really is an exceptional place in a remote and beautiful area. The family deserves all the success that comes their way. Please stay with them!

Truly nothing!

We loved the food being served and the overall design of the room and outside day bed. Our host Cesar was friendly and even provided us with hot water bottles during the night since it gets cold on the lake.

The cabin is very spacious, cozy, and has amazing views. The room stayed warm during the night thanks to the gas heater, and good blankets were provided. The employee serving the food was very kind and helpful, and the food we did eat was tasty. There was also hot water in the shower, although the pressure was low, which is understandable given the remote location.

Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. The taxi arranged through the property arrived about 30 minutes late. We were also scammed during the island visit after agreeing on a price of 90 soles and paying with 100 soles, as the seller refused to give us change and suddenly changed the agreed price. Communication with the owner was poor, especially regarding dietary restrictions, and at lunch we were served food we could not eat despite informing them in advance. Transportation details to the island were also unclear and had to be confirmed by us repeatedly. In addition, the property did not mention the 5% card payment fee beforehand, and the owner was very strict about the type of cash bills accepted. We also felt the owner was cold and unwelcoming during our stay. Some activities mentioned in the listing, such as fishing, were unavailable, and other activities like kayaking were never offered to us. Since pickup was arranged very early and the included activities were short, we felt that much of the day was wasted and spent mostly inside the room.

Lage u Bungalow

The host, Caesar is very kind and speaks good english, arranged our transfer to and back to the Kalapajra port, the taxi arrived at the arranged time and picked us up from Puno centre. Caesar came to the port for us and took us to his floating lodge. He showed us around the floating islands and answered all our questions about the real life on Uros islands. The lodge has a special vibe with exeptionally beautiful view to the lake, and in our case, to the sunset upon Titkaka lake. We loved to lie on the outside bed and just to watch the coming ang going on the lake. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable and with the many blanket and hot water bottles we didn't even needed to turn on the provided gas heater. The food was delicious, we were well taken cared of. Caesar really went out of his way to fulfill our every need, as we had to be at the busterminal early in the morning: he provided breakfast for us and took us to the port by boat and arranged our taxi to the busterminal.

Lodge atypique avec TOUT le confort nécessaire, décoration péruvienne colorée. Cadre calme et reposant, parfait pour une pause au cours du voyage. Hôtes exceptionnels, visite des îles et explications de la vie sur le lac très enrichissantes Un grand merci à César et sa famille pour son accueil, nous avons passé un excellent moment en leur compagnie. Je recommande les yeux fermés.

The hotel was very spacious, cozy and romantic with excellent views of the lake. Cesar was an excellent host and tour guide with brilliant English and of course Spanish. Being a native of the lake his knowledge was great and again I’d emphasise how well he portrayed this in English.

The property is amazing and we would definitely recommend others stay at this guesthouse. The only thing we’d suggest to be wary of, as with any floating island tour, is buying souvenirs from the locals. We’d expect these to be far pricier than in somewhere like Lima/Cusco, which they were, but they were also incorrectly labeled as unique and hand made.

Le personnel est très agréable et au petit soin avec les clients. Le logement est spacieux, propre et magnifique! Le repas ainsi que le petit déjeuner sont succulent! Même l'organisation pour nous y rendre a été d'un simplicité!
