Opik Homestay Tete Batu

Amazing location, super helpful and fun host + family and friends, seeing the rice fields and waterfalls and talking to the local people. The food op Opik's mom was great!

We recommend staying at Opik's 100% We where welcomed like we were part of the family and shown true Sasak hospitality. Ina cooked some delicious local dishes that we hadn't tried elsewhere. The air up in the mountains is much cooler than on the coast which we greatly appreciated. The room is brand new, spacious, has a comfortable bed and the coolest shower/bathroom I have seen in Indonesia. Close to multiple waterfalls, and a good place to start a trek up the mountain. Opik is a great guy, plays guitar,speaks great english and has lots to tell about life around tete batu. Really impressed with what he has started to build up there. If you are looking for a place to stay that is calm, comfortable and authentic, do not hesitate! Terimah kasih Paul & shantia

We had an amazing time at Opik! Thumbs up for the fresh coconut and Opik’s mama’s incredible cooking skills. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and fresh air.

Very comfortable bed, spacious room, friendly host, small breakfast included, it's possible to rent a bicycle and scooter, quiet enough considering all the mosques around, serene in nature, no mosquitoes

Overall a lack of comfort. There is no proper table to sit at and use a laptop or eat at the room. The bathroom and balcony have raw stones with dirt (!) instead of a proper floor. Also when it rained you got completely wet going to the room (through the grass/mud). When I was there, the whole area was a big construction site, so the public space couldn't be used. Also the builders made noise, of course. Bare light bulbs everywhere, no decoration whatsoever. WiFi didn't work a few times, 3 times the water was off because someone disconnected the water pump. The outside of the toilet wasn't cleaned although I asked for it. Also the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned, neither was the sink. The place is a bit far away from everything if you have no bike/bicycle. Also be aware there might be no Grab available! Price: 270k a night (February price) is too high considering the lack of comfort and things that didn't work. No drinking water provided. Bring earplugs and use them before falling asleep, annoying mosques around. Opik was understanding of the things that didn't work and gave me a small reimbursement, thanks for that. I'm sure most guests who left a 10 rating where given an incentive to do so. This may be the first authentic review

We had the most amazing time at Opik Homestay! We were welcomed like we were family by Opik and his mother. Upon arriving we didn’t know what we were going to do. Opik arranged two beautiful days for us (guided walking tour through the surrounding villages with rice fields, monkey forest, spices and waterfalls and also a great hike with Opik). And then the food… 😍🤤 we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with Opik and it was the best Indonesian food we had in Indonesia. We could taste the love and warmth. By the way, the room was big, clean and had a very nice view. Don’t think twice, just book a night (but we recommend two or more).

Opik is an amazing and young dynamic and open-minded person, it was great to meet him and discover his beautiful village. I hope to be back soon

I loved staying at this place! 😊 The room is very pretty and clean and the bed is super comfortable. When you get up in the morning you are in the middle of green and you hear the relaxing sounds of nature. The food (breakfast/lunch/dinner) is incredibly delicious and one of the best meals I have ever tried in Indonesia and also very affordable. But the best was the owner Opik: an incredible kind and funny person who could tell me so much about Indonesian culture, religion and food. I felt welcomed from the minute I arrived at this place. I also took two trips with him, both of which were very beautiful and very affordable. His family and friends are also incredibly friendly and he has two puppies that are super cute. I would recommend staying at this place to everyone!

All meals were freshly made every day either by a friend of Opik or his mother. It was a homestay so we chatted to the family about their lives and ours. Opik is a guide and while he look us on some trips he was also booked by others. When he wasn't available he left us with his friends whose English was great. We expect people to get on with their lives at a homestay. Its work in progress and was good to see. Its within walking distance of the national park, which is great value.O Opik arranged a driver for us which was very helpful. His local knowledge was great

I recommend 100% Opik Homestay! The room was big, clean, with a beautiful bathroom and new bedding. Opik is very kindful, helpful and eager to share his experience and best recommendations to visit Tetebatu. The food is also very good, for breakfast or lunch/diner. The area is beautiful and perfect for people looking for nature and local culture. I am sure this place will become the place to be in Tetebatu, as Opik is a talented and determined entrepreneur. I wish him all the best and I know he will succeed in this project to make his homestay a great place for tourists!

Staying with Opik was wonderful. He took his time explaining us the process of rice and showing us the land. He and also his friend were really kind. The room was clean and really comfortable. It was a place I could relax in and discover the culture.
