It was crap from the start didn't even get to stay there had to sravly to find a place

I didn't get any information about the property within 24 hrs so I reach out (host should be more proactive). The host stated she will send information before check in on the day of check in. I asked about check-in time since the property on booking.com states check-in was 12pm and check-out was 12pm. Which was not true. Host stated it was 4pm check-in and 10am check-out. Although it's misleading and falsely advertised, I didn't make a big deal and waited for the update about the property when arriving. She texted me but I didn't get to the text right away as I was traveling and thought the text was about passcode to house thinking I may be able to trust her. When arriving, I checked the text and it was only about Wifi and where to park. I was at the property and had to call but no answer. Texted and waited and a few minutes later, finally receive the passcode through. When inside found many issues: 1. Bad smoke smell 2. Some lights were broken and without lights some areas of the house were dark 3. The towels were stained 4. Toilet paper were low 5. Bed sheet had what seems like blood stained 6. No closet door 7. Restroom mat was stained I called the host and she made excuses rather than simply resolving the issues. We decided we wanted to cancel as the property was not well kept and it's not managable. At this point it was 9pm at night. When she realized we wanted to cancel and refund, things got so difficult. Calling booking.com customer service was a pain as customer service had to submit cancelling request to the host to approve and so many back and forth calls trying to ask for update and many times customer service hung up on me. Host no longer wanted to take my call or respond to text. She made excuses that she has to put her 1 year old to sleep (as if my issue is not her issue). She would also say that she has to talk to her husband about the refund. Anything to avoid communicating with me.

When we first entered the place smelt bad and unviting. The bathroom rug stunk like old wet rags. Had booked 2 nights but We slept 1 night and left early the next morning. Place felt creepy. There was a door with window at the top of the staircase without a curtain. It looked pitch black staring out of it. Couldn't avoid that door because it was at the end of the hall facing our rooms. We were all awoke at 4am to what I thought was loud neighbors and kids running back and forth. When we got up at 6am things quieted down. My mom had asked to see if I heard what she heard. I told her I thought it was the neighbors because I was so tired. She said no, the noise came from downstairs dining area. The house is definitely haunted. Would not recommend!

Host communication was poor, unit was not clean, entered unit without prior notice, missing furniture, washer was not available, kitchen utensils worn/chipped/broken, host did not respond to early check-in request or provide door code at the normal check-in time

Our host was excellent in responding to communication. The farmhouse had every amenity we needed. It was very clean. Very quiet. Parking was easy and the location felt very safe.

Quiet and lovely neighborhood (Conny's Ice Cream!). Enough space for two people. Well equipped kitchen with huge fridge, stylish microwave. Huge smart TV with many streaming options. Good WiFi. Good communication via phone.

Communication: no reply to our booking.com messages. Communication was only possible via phone which is difficult for foreigners not having a US sim card. Check in time was 4 pm. After calling the host at 4:10 pm, we had to wait for the code to be generated and sent to us. As usual everywhere else, entry should be possible at check in time (and without asking for it over the phone). Cleanliness: towels were dirty. We complained instantly but it took several calls and two days to get clean ones. The whole house only seems to be clean at first sight. Many spots on the bedlinen. There was too much dirt beneath the beds, the oven, the couch including empty bottles. Carpet and AC-outlets filthy - you better not move around barefeet. Too many ants. Amenities: bathroom tiny, especially for more than two people - no hooks for towels. Not enough coffee and dishwasher detergent for our stay. Dinner table with only one chair. No bedside lamps. No table besides the couch. Empty picture frames on the walls. The whole house lacks a personal touch. Washing machine: don't plan on using it! According to booking.com there should be a washing machine ready to use. It was in the locked basement. After two days and many calls/texts we were finally able to access it. However, the drainage did hardly work, so only a very limited use was possible. We still enjoyed our time despite those things. The house has so much potential!
