"Brilliant."

8.0

As a wheelchair user the space was amazing. I rolled around very well. The wet room absolutely spot on. Pepe, our dog, loved the underfloor heating. Peaceful and relaxing. Great nights sleep. Furniture well thought out. Definitely return.

I like to cook. Missing some kitchen items. However, do suspect the items may have made their way to other accommodation when groups stay. Could do with a drainer. We know there is a dishwasher, but not used for a few items. Next. Not a don’t like as I understand that war horse is wheelchair friendly and not all disabilities can be accommodated (anywhere). The sofas were too low for me to use. But we have a solution for next time. Was not too keen about laundry bags awaiting collection.

"Spacious apartment in lovely converted building in quiet location"

8.0

Beautifully converted stables with free parking and charging station, located in a small quiet and secluded settlement outside Richmond. Quaint church and stream. Stayed in War Horse as accommodated 2 people. It is ground floor and accessible accommodation so was spacious with high ceiling, nicely decorated retaining key historic features of past use, large flat screen tv, well equipped kitchen and a wet room. There is an outside covered seating area and guests have use of communal courtyard, though didn’t use as was cold, windy and raining unfortunately. Comes complete with peacock and peahen 🦚 It welcomes dogs subject to extra charge and restrictions.

Dogs are welcomed but had to pay extra £35.00 after had paid the non-refundable accommodation fee so couldn’t cancel and charged £100 fine if didn’t pay the fee before arrival. Also other restrictions were that dogs not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms (no separation in War Horse between bedroom and living room). Our dog is small and non-shedding so not quite sure what extra £35.00 was for given restrictions as muddy boots from a walk in the dales would have caused more mess. One of the sash windows did have a missing window fastening so couldn’t secure the accommodation in what was a ground floor accommodation. However, property so isolated that crime probably quite low. The laundry room is right next to the main door to the accommodation and the light kept being left on and it felt like there were frequent comings and goings and washing machine/dryer was on. Bothered me and the dog rather than hubby. Quietened down at bedtime. Just something to be aware of.

The area was beautiful, it was peaceful. It has been kitted out to a high standard but looks tired and needs some maintenance.

The accommodation could be better, it has been high quality, appears run down, needs some attention to maintenance. 1st night no hot water, they did suggest moving us, but we decided to stay as they explained they were waiting for an oil tanker next morning. The floors weren't hoovered as our socks were covered with blonde hairs and a dog hair that looked like a labrador.. our dog is black!

"Disappointing"

5.0

The room once warm was pleasant enough

Very cold Heating control system very difficult to control. Room did not heat up until the day after we arrived. It wasn’t cleaned Food left in the fridge, grill was dirty, plates were in the dishwasher which was on when we arrived. When we emptied it, nothing came out clean.

"Not good at all!"

2.0

The location

was honestly going to give this place 2 stars at a push, but having no hot water or heating on the last morning was the final nail in the coffin. From the start, things didn’t go smoothly. When we arrived, the room was listed under a completely different name than the one in the instructions, which sent us on a wild goose chase for about 20 minutes. When we finally got in, it was clear the room hadn’t been cleaned properly—if at all. The previous guests had left their swimming costumes in the bathroom, and they were still there when we arrived. The sanitary bins were dirty, there was a used tea towel left in the washing machine, and dirty pots and pans hadn’t been cleared away. We also found hairs in the bed and in the shower, which was really off-putting. We were told someone would come and clean, but no one ever showed up. On top of that, there were only two half-used toilet rolls and no bin bags provided, which just added to the frustration. It’s a shame, because the place itself could be lovely, but it’s just not well kept at all. Overall, a really disappointing stay and not somewhere I’d return to.
