La Cuadra Apartments by AcoModo

The pictures don't do the apartment justice. In person, it feels much bigger, and everything is in excellent condition and very clean. The restaurant connected to the apartment is excellent. Ernesto and Jobal were very helpful during our stay.

The location is on the edge of Casco viejo and we didn't feel safe walking in the area after dark, although it seemed perfectly safe in the day.

1. Of 4 days stay one day had no electricity but a impossible noise from neighbor buildings that had plants to face the shortage (not this, no AC, no nothing) 2. Of 4 days stay two days had no internet 3. Of 4 days stay 3.5 days had the pool undergoing maintenance The sheets and pillowcase were stained. When I very kindly asked the staff to refund me at least one night, that they should have advertised the pool was off and that my business trip was made impossible by their issues they refused saying it didn't depend on them. Please consider that whatever issue you'll be facing (electricity shortage has no solution) you will be dealing with an incredibly unprofessional, cheap host.

We love this property so much that I don’t even know how many times we’ve stayed. Super clean, posh, the friendliest staff, FANTASTIC location….seriously, THE BEST.

Noise / Neighborhood

The apartments were really nice: well furnished and you could find everything, from a great coffee maker to a washer and dryer. The furniture is mostly comfy. Super friendly staff servicing the apartments, people should get credit where they deserve it :).

We had a few issues during check-in—specifically, getting the keys for one of the two apartments we rented took some time, and it was difficult to reach the host initially. Under normal circumstances, this would’ve been a minor inconvenience, but it was more frustrating given that our daughters were exhausted after a 10-hour flight and really needed to rest. The apartment also wasn’t as clean as we expected—we found a sock (presumably from a previous guest) in one of the couches, and there was no hand soap in either of the bathrooms. While these are small details, they can make a difference, especially when you're arriving tired. That said, others may find these issues more or less bothersome depending on their priorities, but we felt it was worth mentioning for future guests. What I do want to mention is that the staff taking care of the place (cleaning, providing extra amenities) were top class and super friendly!

The place is located in very good proximity to more active areas in Casco Viejo. It's safe and well maintained. Tastefully decorated, well equipped, clean, and accessible. Check-in was smooth, and in-house staff is friendly and accommodating.

Apparently there is a neighbor in the back of the building who has an ongoing conflict with developers around the neighborhood, including Acomodo Group/La Cuadra and has resorted to play really annoying funeral like/opera music from 7/8 am non stop. When i reported it, the staff at the front desk expressed frustration at not being able to solve it as it is outside of their control. That's understandable but very disruptive as it makes it impossible to sleep in.
