Parkside Residence at St Albans

A very clean, modern apartment with free parking (it's not guaranteed, however) in a communal apartment block. Good distance to town. A good size. Good TV. Quiet area.

The bed and pillows. The bed has no support whatsoever, and the pillows were cheap and hard to lay on. No mattress or pillow protectors on the bed was a turn-off. There were only wine glasses, no tumblers.

The residence was excellent, everything finished to a really high started. Couldn't fault it

The dinning table was a good size, and enabled me to work and eat. There was some supplies in the cupboard, probable left from previous visitors such as such, tea, cooking oil and a couple if herbs.

The directions for where the keys were mentioned a certain side of the property, but failed to mention if this was based on the front of the property or rear. The sofa and bed was uncomfortable and there bathroom was not clean, with others toothpaste splatter around the sink and public hair in the sink. The TV only allowed 5 channels unless I wished to log into Netflix etc, which I don't. There was only half a role of toilet roll provided.

The property looked well presented and was in a quiet location.

However, the attention to detail and the basics of short term letting were lacking. It seems the host was not aware of what was expected ie:  -property had only one small hand towel on arrival, so we were unable to shower before our event. We were told they would be 'there in a minute'. 1 hour 20 mins later they arrived, too late for us to shower before having to be at an event. - there was no hairdryer, so I was unable to wash my hair or shower. - We booked for 4 people, but the sofa bed had only a duvet cover under the sofa. I found 1 x pillow, and no pillows cases. This should all be ready and prepared.  Caused ALOT of stress before the event we had travelled from Scotland to attend. I complained, was offered £50 refund by the host.  I preferred this to go via the booking.com platform, sent and email and have been replied to with the host saying they 'cannot reply to this email'. So no reply, no refund.  I am a very unhappy customer with Parkside Residence and Booking.com!  I would not recommend this host.

Apartment was well equipped and clean.

Absolutely terrible I would not recommend. Communication is so very poor and the owners are unhelpful.
