Cosy private cottage near beach

Lovely location and excellent elevated garden space offering sea views

Bed was abit small

Lovely old cottage in a brilliant position, just yards from the beach. Nice modern kitchen, fully equipped with everything you could need. Comfy lounge/dining room and light and airy bedrooms.

Great location.beach ,cafe,restraunt and shop all a very short walk away but nice quiet area.amenities in cottage were very good and we even used the log burning fire...very cosy.

Access to back garden was a no go.steep steps looked dangerous so didnt use.but was table and chair in front garden fortunately.

The property was clean. Plenty of kitchen equipment. Heating worked well. Beds where comfortable.

The Yale lock on the front door didn’t close or lock properly, we notified the designated person and they told us that they couldn’t come out and see us because they had no transport. The bottom dead lock didn’t work at all. So each night we had to put a chair up against the door! Was told there were catch up and other channels on the tv but they didn’t work onlythe normal channels worked. Upper wooden terrace was dangerous as the wood was rotten. Recycling bins not emptied from previous holiday tenants. There was a car parking space but the hedge was so overgrown it scratched the side of the car and passenger had to get out of the car onto the road before the car could be parked. The log burner had not been cleaned out. We realize it is an older property but it did smell very musty. Four of us stayed there but there was only two toilet rolls provided for a week. Garden was very overgrown.

Great location within 2 minute walk of small safe bay/beach, pub and cafe and with good coastal walks to Ilfracombe and Coombe Martin. Good base for exploring wider area. Everything you need for 'home' comfort in the property.

No information in the property for nearest doctor, hospital etc or for any other emergency or health and safety matters. The rear upper terrace from where advertising photo of bay is taken is potentially unsafe due to rotten and unsafe timbers, certainly not safe for children. Further timber picnic bench/table was also rotten. Rear gulley outside kitchen door kept overflowing due to what appeared to be a leaf blockage (we partly cleared but may need further clearance?). No clear instruction where to leave bagged rubbish/waste as only 3 recycling waste boxes at front of property (full) and no other bins outside (other than full garden waste bin). Only 1 tea towel provided in kitchen with no additional sheets/blankets in bedrooms should weather have been less kind/warm during our stay. Unusual not to find a 'visitor book' and tourist information in the property. What appears to be a local dog likes to deposit its 'waste' on the front drive of the property!!

We stayed here to attend a beautiful wedding at watermouth. The cottage was a perfect distance for walking or driving to Ilfracombe, 4 mins drive if you're attending a wedding at watermouth. This really was an ideal place to stay and was very happy happy with our choice.

Warm on arrival and throughout our stay

Bed very uncomfortable did not help with thick plastic sheet on it. We were awake for most of night and duvet was small. Also part of the decking right at the top of the garden was unsafe. It’s a shame as location good and cottage was in fact cosy.
