Coastal Comfort Homestay in Santa Monica

It was very spacious, clean and cozy. Feel like going back to home

It would be better to have a warmer heater, but generally it doesn’t really hurt. The room is quite warm

Good location homestay with great welcome host. Good facilities and clean room. Host provided permit for on street parking.

Room is on 2nd floor so we have to carried our luggages on the stair but host offered to help us.

Upon arrival, it was evident that the building had housed or was housing a cat or cats. The smell was extreme. My wife is allergic to cats, and it causes her breathing problems. I contacted the owner of the room, and they stated that they had a cat, and it was clearly listed in the booking.com profile. I did not see it anywhere, so I asked them to tell me where it stated that there was a cat on the premises. All of a sudden, they state that they were mistaken, and there was no cat. This was obviously a "backtrack" lie. I told the owner that we could not stay at the location due to my wife's allergies, and they refused to refund all of my money. In addition, Booking.com was no help at all. Despite the fact that the Booking.com listing was a lie, they claimed that they were "only a middle man" for the booking, and the owner was the only one who could refund the money. Booking.com = SCAM!

Very friendly host, the Homestay felt like home! Bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean
