The Village Breeze By Lucky

Beautiful and authentic stay with great gardens and rural surroundings! The host is amazing by and makes you feel like you are part of the family guiding you through the attractions nearby and voluntarily taking you on night walks to discover animals or serves coconuts from his garden.

We didn't get to stay at Lucky's place because of an issue with the water. But Lucky provided alternative accommodation and together with his wife made sure we were comfortable, well fed and arranged transport for us when we needed any. These people are absolute gems and the best hosts we ever had.

Very nice dinner. lucky is attent and will do everything to make you at ease. Any inconvenience will melt as snow from the sun. His wife is a good cook and serves autentic sri lankanian meal. Honest and very good food.

The house was not easy finding.

Lucky (the host) and his wife are very lovely people and give you a warm welcome. We had such a nice dinner in the garden in the evening, which Lucky’s wife cooked for us. Also, Lucky gave the amazing tip to climb the Yapahuwa Rock at sunrise. We were the only one there which was a great experience! Thanks for being a good host Lucky!

The room was a bit warm because there was no airconditioning.

Lovely homestay with a local family. Lucky’s wife is an excellent cook and made us an amazing dinner, with more than enough food! Lucky obviously cares a lot about his place and was very hospitable ensuring everything was perfect!

Fan was a little small and stuck on the wall a bit far from the bed - think the room would greatly be improved by a standing fan just so that its effects can be felt greater. However it was manageable

Lucky is a born host. Super friendly, helpful and was very welcoming. The homestay is on the road and not far from many interest points in the area.

By far, it was the most expensive place I had dinner in the whole country, the price can be compared to what you find in restaurants in Europe and what was a bit annoying is that once you opt for dinner, you can no longer cancel, even if you do it 4 hours in advance. The dinner is authentic and delicious Sri Lankan food, very well made, but it is quite expensive. Another and only point to mention is the fan. The city is extremely hot, but the room is even hotter maybe due to the roof and the lack of a good fan can make it impossible to sleep, as happened with my friend. A strong floor or roof fan could solve this problem.

The host and his wife are extremely welcoming. They speak very good english, so talking to them is a real pleasure and you learn a lot. The host was also incredibly kind helping us arranging tuk tuks and trips. The dinner at their place was delicious.

A/C in the room would probably help also with the mosquitos.

The host was exceptional. He was so kind and friendly. They cooked dinner for us, arranged everything nicely on the table and did everything they could to comfort us. His wife is a very good cool and it was so delicious. He also went with us to a lake close by and explained plants and traditional things. The view was amazing and the chat with him very interesting. The room was good, it had a mosquito net and a fan. You could take a table to sit outside, which was nice.

There was no Air conditioner. So the room was really warm and I sweated during the night.

Food was great, host was very nice, helped us with the trip to Yapahuwa
