Old Tavern House

Very well appointed, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Host communication was excellent! Great location for exploring the Black Isle. Sadly, we were only here for 2 nights - longer would have been great. Highly recommended

It was great to have the space to spread out and wash our clothes.

The upstairs neighbours were a bit noisy at times coming and going from their apartment outside our window. The lane filled with drinkers from the pub on Saturday evening during a live band and were quite raucous.

The location away from the bustle of Inverness was perfect. Buses right outside if you didn’t want to drive. Perfect location for Chanonry point and one of the reasons I chose it. Everything you needed, we caught up on some washing. Fish and chips nearby were brilliant.

The toilet seat was broken and needed addressing. I let Jane know as I didn't want her to think it was us! Cleaning between guests could be a bit sharper, I dropped something behind the bedside table and there was someone else’s packet of lockets and silver wrapping from tablets. Nothing that would put us off. Very narrow driveway. I have a VW T-Roc that beeped the whole way in but it made it each time and there’s room to turn round and drive out.

Fortrose and Rosemarkie are great little villages to go and relax and go for slow walks along the beach, the hosts of the accommodation had thought of everything and even left a little dram for me on my arrival. The location is right in the centre of fortrose with shops and bakery nearby.

Beautiful apartment with everything you could need for a short or long stay, with parking, and handy for restaurants, shops and a bus stop yards away. The property is immaculate, and Jane is really friendly and informative in advance of arrival. Lovely wee touches in the property too - a dram and some Tunnocks teacakes! Really comfortable bed, great heating throughout the house, good shower pressure, and a nice wee enclosed courtyard at the rear.

Absolutely nothing to improve with the property or owner - both are great and I'd stay again in a flash. Couple of things to note - although they should in no way be deal-breakers in my opinion - there is a small but busy pub across the lane and the noise can travel a bit later at night. The property is a historic building (thick walls) and mobile phone signal can sometimes be patchy inside but is fine outside (the wifi worked perfectly for me), and Tavern Lane is a right angle access directly off the High Street and is narrow, so slow and steady is the order of the day for accessing the car parking space. Jane's directions were really clear and easy to understand and staying at the property was a joy.

Fabulous little house in a lovely little town. Had a drink in the tavern next door, barmaid was lovely. Everyone I met was warm and friendly, and I'm already looking forward to a return visit.

Nothing really, parking down the alley is a little awkward.
