Huize Jon Hostel

Centrally located, basic but ok dorm beds with curtains. AC and wifi ok. Possibility to book volcano tours thorugh hostel.

I arrived very early in the morning and notified them before. However, when I arrived, there was no one there. Luckily I could contact the hostel by Whatsapp, but it still took a good half hour until someone came. Bathrooms were not clean and no towels were provided.

Excellent Bromo tour organized. Jon is a gem, especially if you’re Dutch - talk Dutch with him! Excellent coffee downstairs. Great atmosphere. Decently clean. Curtains lend some privacy to the dorm beds.

Many people visiting here go on a (Bromo) tour, which takes place at night, so also during daytime people are often sleeping in the dorm. So there is not a good place to chat or hang out. Downstairs is great for that though. Warm water in the showers seems to run out after about 20 seconds.

everyone is very friendly and they have the cheapest tour for Bromo! I would return to that place all the time!

Not much sun light in the room

Perfect place to rest before our journey to Bromo and Ijen with clean and quiet rooms. We were welcomed with one of their specialty coffee, you should really try them and had a good talk with owner Jon, who speaks perfect Dutch! He also recommended us where to good and showed us the best gado gado place we visited in Indonesia so far

Jon and his son are super helpful

The dorm is not something that you expect from a hostel of this rating. The washing areas didn’t even have a soap.

The hostel was amazing, more than what I was expecting It is spotless, and the staff is very helpful I highly recommend this hostel I will be back again
