The room was very sub standard for the price paid. We were basically in a converted cellar which was cold and damp. The room wasn't finished as there was exposed expanding foam wall filler and very rough woodwork around the bed. There was an unsecured door to basement stairs and the main door had no internal lock. There was no housekeeping provided and no facility to dry towels as the radiators weren't turned on, despite being told that they came on in the evening. No wardrobe and nowhere to sit as the bed was wedged into a narrow space and raised up a step. We had to ask for a kettle and the electric heater provided was inadequate even though 25° outside. I raised all of the above with reception who simply apologised and suggested I speak to the owner who was at a private function. Not a great response!! 🤷‍♀️

Lyde court was absolutely beautiful, and I have to say the website (despite being really great didn’t even do it justice in the end) - the grounds themselves are completely astonishing, with a beautifully curated garden, a brilliant open space outside the cafeteria (which served fab food, I highly recommend the pastrami loaded sourdough) and plenty more space to roam immediately outside of the property itself

Genuinely no issues to report here - a huge thank you to Karen and Gary for creating such a wonderful space to have called home for the 6 days we were there

Beautiful property in general in a quiet location, lovely cafe and surrounds. Owners were very pleasant.

Sadly our room was not as advertised, it was much smaller than the listing, with no terrace, patio or windows. The room itself was an old barn with little renovation, there was nowhere to put clothing or bags without them being covered in dust or droppings. Pillows were against the exposed bricks and dust/cobwebs. The price we paid did not represent the quality of the room. Some of the other rooms seemed better, perhaps there should be separate listings with more appropriate prices.

Lovely spot in beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good food. Some live music. The accommodation and the barns were full of character - a unique experience.

No breakfast till 10:00, usually, which wasn't ideal. Although they did kindly do us a breakfast for 09:30.

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful restaurant/bar area, lots of fun exploring for kids and adults. Unique and pretty rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent food.

Some rooms don’t have a bathroom on the same floor, which is an inconvenience if you need the loo a lot during the night.

We liked everything about the place especially it's quirky nature. All staff and the owner were incredibly helpful and couldn't do more to make our stay enjoyable.
