I phoned the agent to let them know I've arrived and they speak little English and hung up on me twice and then didn't pick up calls from my number until I emailed them my line which cam use translate. Horrifically rude, ignorant and just lazy to do such things!

Worst "5 star hotel" I've ever stayed at. Booked this place through Booking.com where it was advertised as being a 5 star hotel. After paying close to $200(AUD) per night, we arrived and were greeted by an empty desk in the lobby with a self check in sign. This was the first red flag. We were later able to find a security guard who gave us a number to call. We called the number and a lady answered, her English was so poor it took us almost half an hour to get inside the room. After the disappointing realisation that the "hotel" we booked was actually a condo that has very little to do with the resort next door, we decided to go out to see the amenities and local businesses. Firstly, the pool that is beachside is actually divided into two parts. The major part is designated to resort guests, and is available to Veranda Residence guests for 800 baht per person per day. The other side of the pool is for the use of both resort and residence guests. None of this was advertised at the time of booking. Secondly, a few minutes walk from the property is Jomtien Beach that has some very nice restaurants and cafes. However, it takes about 25-30 mins drive to Pattaya city and a round trip by taxi will cost around 500 baht (on a good day) It was also impossible to book a Grab from the property because it's located in a pretty dead part of Jomtien, Pattaya. Secondly, as for the room itself, it is also worth mentioning that on arrival we found the master bathroom to have a rather unpleasant smell. As it turns out, this was actually the last thing we worried about because later that day we returned to find a huge cockroach. At night I was woken up by strange whispers and then a gentle thud on my head. It was a cockroach. Lastly, on the last morning of our stay, a lady came in at 11:16am to tell us to turn off the lights and air-conditioning and also take out the rubbish before our check out at 12:00. We self-checked out and left.

Firstly I had no idea that I wasn't booking the proper hotel experience. When we arrived to find no check-in, no services, and restricted access, I called the manager to discuss this, and before I got 5 words out, she was yelling at me down the line "But you booked residence!" I didn't realise that I wasn't booking a proper hotel at all, but they don't care and do nothing at all to make the stay better. We couldn't even charge drinks at the front to our room and were not allowed access to the front pools. As a result we ate our meals out and brought our drinks in. Whatever you do, don't talk to the manager, she'll bite your head off.
