Nothing looked filthy from outside

The landlady was lovely, very warm and friendly. The room had a really comfortable bed with good bed linen. The breakfast was good with a good selection. We ate in the restaurant on the two evenings we were there, and we particularly enjoyed the choices on the specials board.

Everything was very acceptable, but some things were worth of a special mention.

A great location for Westonbirt Arboretum, Highgrove, Tetbury. A nice old building with pleasant atmosphere and our evening meal and breakfast was good.

It’s looking tired - things that could easily be sorted without much/any expense: The first thing on being shown our room was a rug on the floor that was damaged and badly frayed at one end with strands trailing on the surrounding carpet. The shower had a considerable amount of black mould on the sealant round the edge of the shower tray. A big NO! And a potential health hazard! The toilet seat was loose so slipped to one side. The toilet itself and washbasin were clean; and bedding was crisp and nice. I did report these to the young lady at breakfast who apologised and passed on our comments to the manager. She did explain how hard it is to find good cleaners but in that case someone needs to be overseeing the work and checking the rooms on a regular basis. The stair carpet to the first floor was marked and would look better if removed and the wood stained to match other areas.

Great location for the arboretum. Cosy atmosphere. The chalet offered roomy accommodation and was very comfortable. Made a change from a hotel room. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Recommend their home made pies!

Set in beautiful Cotswolds, very close for Westonbirt Arboretum and charming town of Tetbury - absolutely fantastic breakfast, tasty and plentiful - lovely hosts too 👍

Sorry but Wi-Fi dreadful, TV way too small and tv reception very hit and miss -

The peacefulness of the chalet, the superb spot in amongst wildlife. Food was good, chalet was well stocked, variety of drinks etc excellent! I loved my stay despite my mobility problems and lack of space.

No handrail to assist entry to chalet, treacherous in wet weather. The Shack needs upgrading, other chalets better value. Mattress too soft for my bad back but otherwise very comfortable. Would like a little fold up table and upright chair to work on. I needed to write and wanted to do some art work but nowhere to do it. Couple chairs rather than sofa bed would be more useful in that size chalet.

Very nice food. Very close to National Arboretum.
