GBGreat location in beautiful dorset. Trevor had put a lot of thought into nice touches like a stocked fridge, snacks, bath products an amazing guide to the area. We loved the Norman Church ruins nearby. The shower is great with hot powerful water. Trevor also allowed our friend whose accommodation had fallen through to stay on night with us for a small extra cost which was hugely appreciated. Thank you!
There is a huge amount of stuff for such a small space plus many decorative nick nacks that meant it felt a bit cluttered and a bit dusty and possibly more to others taste.
GBHospitality was fantastic, Trevor was so nice and put in all the little extras to make my stay special, including treats for my pup Lexi, would be coming back at some point and hope to stay in touch. Beautiful hidden gem of a place was able to relax and switch off. Thank you for everything x
Nothing was the most adorable place I've stayed in and was like home from home. Can't find one thing to pick about. Was beautiful from beginning to end.
GBTrevor was an excellent host and made us so welcome, with extra special attention to detail. Could not fault it.

GBWe liked everything! Our host, Trevor, met us and told us all about Martha's Retreat. He had made a really special effort as it was my birthday - a large homemade cake, a bottle of bubbly in the fridge, flowers and even a birthday card. He made us feel very much at home and provided lots of breakfast goodies. There were also boxes, one with 'emergency' snacks and another for essential items we may have forgotten! The little house was spotless when we arrived (and hopefully still OK when we left) Our elderly beardie, Flora, also enjoyed her stay, relaxed enough to sleep all night.
We actually loved the very tall cow parsley outside the rear windows but perhaps if the little patio, where the chairs and table were placed, was cleared for summer guests it would be perfect to catch the late afternoon sun with a cup of tea or an early evening aperitif. However, the rustic charm of the setting was quite perfect just as it was!
GBLocation is excellent, Trevor is excellent, everything he did was over & above the expected, he even made my wife a cake for her Birthday! Bed was very comfy, the paddock is a wonderful place to sit & watch the fire. 30 mins from Poole, the Old inn was excellent. It won’t be the last time we visit.
Shower room is a little small but that’s not a complaint, it’s just something to bare in mind if staying for a week or two, the cooking facilities are great for what we wanted but again, for a week/ 2 week stay it may get a little tricky. In summer it would be great to have a blind of some sort on the front door or bedroom door so the light doesn’t come in.
GBThe setting of the lodge was stunning. Was made to feel so welcome, treats left and fresh bread and eggs. List of place to eat, or walk to. We couldn't have asked for such a lovely stay.
We were treated like a king and queen.
GBLots of thought given to making sure we were comfortable and looked after.
It's very compact so you need to be tidy!
