Thansur Tatai Eco Resort

The location literally on the river in the floating bungalow was amazing. We were here in the low season so the cost was accordingly reduced. Worth being aware that this is the same lodge as Koh Andet EcoRetreat (still has same livery!) just now rebranded and moved along the riverbank, so worth seeking out some of the reviews of that lodge, as a few of the issues resonate with our experience. The water was unfortunately brown due to the rains so not the translucent waters seen in photos but those could be found in some of the side tributaries explored by kayak.

The trade-off for the low season is that the staffing level was low - for which the hard-working manager apologised repeatedly. It did mean that service was very, very slow but as we had nowhere else to go and nothing else to do (by design) we didn't worry too much about that. The food was delicious at every meal during our 3 day, 4 night stay. It also meant that there were no useful stocks of drinks - only really beer. There was no housekeeping unless we asked (emptying bins, replacing water, simple things), again partly because of low season and partly because staff were attending to getting the place up and running - we discovered it had shifted location 500m only 3 days earlier - literally floated down the river - so the teething problems from that relocation needed sorting out.

Thansur Tatai Resort is an absolutely stunning destination that exceeded all of my expectations. The location is breathtaking, nestled in the lush Cambodian jungle with a stunning view of the Tatai River. The resort itself is beautifully designed, with luxurious amenities and spacious rooms that are both comfortable and stylish. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was enjoyable. The food was delicious and there were plenty of options to choose from, including local Cambodian dishes. Overall, Thansur Tatai Resort is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway in a truly unique and beautiful setting. Highly recommended!
