There were bedbugs in the mattress in the room. There was no sign board for the property on the road.

This place really blew our mind ! at start we didn't know we had to hike down the place to reach the room , quite scared at first but when we saw the view my God !! everything was just worth it ! The host ,the family were the sweetest , we stayed there for 3 days and we felt we were staying with a family. On our second day the pipeline broke due to sand erosion but the family late at night fixed it up by themselves. This you don't even see in any 5 star hotels. Tuk tusk would climb up the hill to reach us to our room and were easily available. Go to this place if you are looking for adventure and peace, if you are someone who loves luxury this place isn't for you. But it's one of a kind experience. You also need to be physically fit to climb up and down to the room and also carry some salt or Leech repellents since there are leeches since its closer to the waterfall.

What a wonderfull place with the kindest family. They offer nice breakfast, dinner and juices The house/lodge is not big luxury but has everything you need! I would definitely recommend staying here if you love nature. You have a stunning view on the waterfall. The place is just a few kilometers out of Ella town but on a hill which makes it a climb to get there, but the family arranges a tuktuk if needed. The last bit is only reachable by foot and is a bit steep, but really worth it.

They did breakfast every morning which was absolutely delicious - typically a savoury Sri Lankan dish, pancakes, and also some fruit. We also booked a Sri Lankan supper for a couple of nights - this was also delicious. The location beside the waterfall was remote and beautiful - we enjoyed spending time relaxing here as well as seeing Ella. The family were incredibly kind and welcoming. Mandula (sorry if we spelt it wrong!) took us up to Ella rock early one morning, and also took us to the waterfall and other places. The kids were lovely and Priyanka made us feel at home. The house is remote but their friend Shaashika was happy to drive us in his tuk tuk whenever we needed, and the family also organised scooter rental for us for one day so we could travel outside Ella. They also sorted laundry for us. Nothing - it was amazing.

This place is a hidden gem in the mountains of Ella. The whole family helps you from beginning to end: they message you before you arrive, arrange tuktuks for you, breakfast and dinner are amazing and the father of the family takes you on an early morning hike to see Ella Rock. We would really recommend staying here!!

We were welcomed with a big smile from the whole family. The room is really clean and has the most beautiful view! Every morning we would wake up to the smell of an amazing breakfast. The daughter always brings refreshing juices with the biggest smile. The family will do anything so that you have a nice stay. They helped us fix a cheap scooter. I recommend also having dinner at the place, it was one of the best dinners we had in Sri Lanka. If you are looking for a place outside the noisy city of Ella, this is the place! You can relax with the sound of the waterfall or start a hike. If we are ever again in Sri Lanka we are DEFINITELY going back!!

Ella Jungle Rock, it’s the first place comes on my mind, now i’m back home! This lodge is surrounded by hundreds of trees in a peaceful, wonderful location, with a stunning view at the waterfall and a train bridge You can only hear the sound of the waterfall and of the birds The owners live next to the lodge, this sweet family,just ready to offer help and kindness!
