North King Motel

Cheap and in good location close to universities.

It's dirty. The room has smelled terrible. There were hairs from previous guests all over bath tub including pubic hair. They have to better clean the rooms after each guest. The pillow was like a brick. All of us had terrible sleep. It's a budget motel, we don't expect 5 star amenities, but basic cleaning must be maintained and they have to get rid of the smell from the room.

Price was good, they were convenient and clean. And the mattresses were encased- a plus for me.

No ice available, ice tray in freezer, but didn't freeze. The floor of the shower was bubbled, uneven and not stable. There were no grab bars available, I slipped twice. Lucky for me, I never fell out onto the floor. That could have gone very badly!

Most of the places in the area were booked or 3x the price. I just needed a place to stay for the night that wasn't too far out of the way. This place checked all of the boxes. It looks like an older motel, which is what it is. But the beds were fine, the bathroom worked. I had no problems with it. And it's on one of the main roads (Route 5).

I didn't see any publicly available Internet (so in the morning I left a little earlier than planned and walked around downtown Northampton which was nice). It was a basic motel, so nothing fancy (but I just wanted a place I could sleep in an area that was safe, and this qualified).

This motel is always my go to place when in this area if they have a room. People are very friendly, rooms are comfortable and for the location and value, you can't bet it! :)

People are super friendly and beds are very comfortable. Location is perfect for my needs. Have stayed there many times and plan on staying there many more. Great value for your travel dollar. Nothing fancy, just right!
