The Old Vicarage

The breakfast was fantastic, the bed large, cosy and comfy and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Ample onsite parking was a bonus, and the location was perfect for pootling around Ambleside with all the main amenities (restaurants, pubs, groceries, shops etc) within walking distance close by. There is a lovely park to walk the dog in just down the road and it's a great hub to branch out to visit the different lakes. Tea and biscuits in the drawing room, relaxing on the large comfy sofas, was home from home, and this B&B is VERY dog friendly. We will definitely stay again when heading back to the lakes.

What's not to like?? With hindsight, we would probably have chosen a different room with our small dog/my gammy leg, as the in-room spiral staircase to the bedroom was a bit inconvenient for us, but for the able bodied and non-doggie types it would be the quirky and fun experience I originally thought it would be lol!! So, there's really not much to complain about!

A little tired in places, but did not effect our short stay & certainly wouldn't stop us from booking again.

A very warm welcome into a stunning period building. Ample parking right outside. Very spacious room, with comfortable bed and sofa. The bathroom is also spacious and well equipped with a bath and separate shower. The toiletries were lovely. A good sized mini fridge was a bonus, alongside a good TV. The pre order breakfast option delivered to your room worked great, especially travelling with our dog! Hotel very walkable to local pubs and eateries. Would recommend for a stay in Ambleside.

Pillows were a tad soft for our liking, but didn't hinder our sleep.

Friendly staff, great location, pool, good breakfast

The location was central to everything shops and restaurants. Facilities were good, and the staff were amazing. The rooms were spacious, and the breakfast was exceptional.
