The family room was clean and comfortable. For the price, inclusive breakfast is thought would be basic...but nooo we had a freshly cooked breakfast to order, it was beautiful @

Good location and well stocked coffee, biscuits and spring water and nice clean room. Parking was really handy and lots of spaces . Breakfast adn reception staff very friendly and helpful.

We booked a twin room and when we arrived one of the beds in the room wasn’t so wonky that it was not possible to sleep in it ie it leant towards the head on one side markedly. My friend who arrived first complained to the manager who was very disinterested and offered us a double as the only alternative at the same price. As we are not a couple we didnt want this and we’re then after a lot of pressure offered the original twin room and and also a double but at an extra cost of £50. The managers comment was it’s an old charismatic hotel ….. it may be but surely you can buy a new bed ! We also chose the hotel partly because it had a good menu in the restaurant but on the night of our stay we were told they weren’t serving food. The cooked breakfast in the morning was ok but pretty mediocre in quality.

The location in the centre of town was perfect for us. The team were excellent check on was easy and we are in the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and looked after us really well

Some information was not up to date - eg restaurant was advertised on line and in bedroom brochure as being available, but had actually closed and wasn't due to reopen for another week, by a different company. Management seemed unaware of this anomaly in information. Also information about parking was a bit confusing - on pay and display machine in car park it said take duplicate receipt to reception for refund, whereas you didn't need to use pay and display at all - just put registration number in machine at reception. In bedroom it advised leaving keys in box on first floor landing - we were in the annex, which was very good, but couldn't find a key box - it didn't say it was in the main hotel - so again, information could have been clearer If I was nitpicking - for the price paid, home made pancakes and authentic Greek yogurt, not shop pancakes and Greek style yogurt would have been appreciated. Little things, but they add up to a quality experience. Worth noting that this hotel is in the low town - cliff railway is a good way of getting to high town where majority of shops, restaurants etc. are. Cliff railway only operates until 6pm, so you need to be fairly fit to walk up in the evening.
