The George Hotel

Lovely olde worlde hotel very warm and friendly all staff were very chatty and helpful, room very cosy easy parking close by, very filling breakfast. Nice hot bath in spacious bathroom and quiet at night.

Nothing very enjoyable stay and new managers already working on improvements.

The George is run by a friendly couple who have only been there 7 weeks. Very helpful and friendly. Tasty food.

The room was nicely furnished and clean and tidy. Towels and soaps hairdryer all good Bed comfy. Windows that could be opened ( we like fresh air & some hotels locked for security)

Such an amazing hotel. Staff are lovely and the place is clean. Great location and not far to walk from a free residential street. Food was ok but nothing special. I loved the Halloween decorations they put up. Would 100% stay here again.

I did not like the lack of free parking.

The rooms were really clean and homely. The breakfast was beautiful, full English cooked freshly with quality ingredients. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Drinks very reasonably priced too in the pub.

Our room was quite noisy due to the road outside but didn’t bother us wearing earplugs.

The room was OK. Quite an awkward step in the room near the door, which you can't see at night. Breakfast was good, although the chef was the only person who spoke when he came out of the kitchen. Otherwise the restaurant had no staff at all who spoke to us.

They do not answer the phone during the day. It's more of a pub with accommodation, when compared to a hotel. The 3 staff were pleasant when you spoke to them, but otherwise made little attempt in the morning. They need to invest in double glazing to the bedroom. Being woken up at 5.30am by the supermarket deleveries behind the bedroom could be improved with double or secondary glazing.

It was conveniently situated for visiting friends in the town
