Perfect country cottage retreat!

The cosy feel when you enter the property.

Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain so we could not fully enjoy the outside space.

We loved the garden. Having small children, it was lovely for them to just run around and play football, also the tree swing and tree house was a bonus. The cottage is small and cosy. The beds are amazing and comfortable we all slept fantastic.

No kids cups. My son accidentally smashed a glass as he wasn't used to drinking from glass, but Lorraine reassured me it was okay, and these things happen when I messaged her to let her know.

The cottage is very beautiful it shows it has been highly cared for , so much love and care has gone into this cottage, I loved waking up every morning with my coffee looking out the windows at the beautiful scenery of the garden, even the garden is cared for amazingly. The kids played in the garden which was amazing to see running around and playing hide and seek. Sitting by the fire at night warming up all nice and cozy.watching movies. I love all the different lamps around the house which I believe Lorraine makes so I will be now looking into some for my home too as they are very unique and stylish. Lorraine has also been amazing, if I had any questions Lorraine would answer quickly. I will definitely be booking again soon, as I felt very welcomed and relaxed and didn't want to leave.

I didn't like going home I was too comfortable

Great house for a weekend stay. Facilities were perfect. Walking distance to local pubs and shop. Surroundings are beautiful. Well equipped and clean. Good communication with owner!

Shower in only one bathroom. Not a huge issue but the other bathroom could benefit from this!

Needed somewhere local to stay while I was having my kitchen replaced. Beautiful cottage, with a stunning garden. Bedrooms were of a good size. There were two staircases, one leading up to 1 bedroom with an en-suite, the other (original part of the cottage) lead up to the other 4 bedrooms. My son is 6ft 3 and he struggled a little with the height of the ceilings so he stayed in the room that had the newer staircase leading to it, but even so, he really enjoyed himself. The property is really well maintained and was a pleasure staying there. Would definitely recommend if you wanted to get away from it all and be in the countryside - garden backs on to farmland.

It was a very pretty cottage but let down by so many things including the owner!!

We had no hot water or heating for the entire stay! We were there with a baby and elderly grandparents and when we raised this at the end of our stay we were met with disdain and excuses with no accountability whatsoever. When pushed further we were offered a maximum of 20% refund minus booking.com fees. Really no consideration for what is just basic standards. It’s no one’s fault it didn’t work but the owner refused to see that that was unacceptable and offer a more fair resolution. The property has incredibly low ceilings in most rooms, the only shower available is maximum 5”7’ high and whilst yes it is a cottage we felt this should probably have been detailed and felt this was a deliberate omission. Nothing but bad things to say about the owner who couldn’t just do the right thing.
