Perfect country cottage retreat!

The property was absolutely beautiful. The garden - so pretty and the perfect place for us to relax with a wine in the sun. Lovely open plan kitchen diner, great for socialising. Every room was very clean and we all commented on how comfortable the beds were and the sheets were so soft. Lovely big towel too!! A prefect property for our group of mums looking to unwind, drink and eat! A shot walk to a lovely pub with great food.

We loved the property, nothing we didn’t like. Could maybe benefit from a shower in the other bathroom.

Very quirky old cottage, beautifully styled. We loved the garden and the beautiful art pieces that were dotted about inside and out. The bedding, all the towels and kitchen were all very good quality.

We are a tall family, so we found the low ceiling and door frames quite a challenge (ouch). We did miss somewhere to hang our long dresses and suits. The cottage features were such an insight into it's long history though.

Beautiful cosy cottage, which was fantastic for a weekend stay. Lots of facilities and space for socialising, and has a lovely atmosphere.

The cottage was spacious, well furnished and clean, and perfect for our weekend away. Lorraine was very responsive to any queries we had and check-in / check-out was smooth.

Taller members of our group found the headroom in the shower tight, but that comes with their height and the age of the cottage!

Excellent property - easy to find, spacious, airy, bright and enough parking spaces for atleast 3 cars. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The property is built in the 1500's and many aspects of that built has been retained. Felt at home even with a large group of seven of us staying there. If you are there in summer time, then the huge garden around is the place you would love to spend time in. Google maps may take you to the Clutterford End street, which is a dead end street that ends just adjacent to the property. The entrance to the property is right from the main Ongar road going from Fyfield to Ongar.

Hardly any flaws - low ceiling heights in a few rooms need to get used to. Of the two bathrooms, only one has a shower and the sloping low ceiling there could be a bit of a challenge for those with a bit of physical challenge. And the narrow spiral stairs to the bedrooms could also pose a bit of hassle if you are lugging very large & heavy bags. The pros of the property will certainly outweigh these hassles.
