Veena Palace Group Of Houseboats

Very peaceful and dreamy location on the lake. Beautiful view and lily leafs around the houseboat. Super authentic and cozy property with very lovely family living there. Very genuine host with great connections and networking in the area. Really fantastic welcoming and homemade food made the stay really enjoyable.

Main downside of the stay was the final price for it. Was fully open for an extensive stay in the accommodation ( even communicated that to the host), however, was really overcharged for the service I got organised by him (breakfast/dinner; driver for sightseeing, boat ride). My mistake for not pre arranging and agreeing very clearly on price for each: driver, food, boat rides and etc. ( make sure to agree on prices that are appropriate for local services) ADVICE TO TRAVELERS: Agree on every single price of any service gives/promised prior. Instead of getting a friendly price as promised, got charged fees more expensive than Europe. Really pity as the plan of 2 weeks turned into 6days due to an overcharge.

The cleanliness, the isolation, the owner, the sense of being home. I was here for two days and I was a solo traveller from Bangalore with me and my bike. Couldn’t have asked for a better host. I recommend it 100%.

The owner firdous is absolutely fantastic person. You don't expect owners to be this welcoming and caring. Superb person. Location is very calm it's away from the crowd.

The houseboat is like a homestay, its location is away from the rows of large boats, with beautiful outlook over lilypads, trees and mountains. The owner is an exceptional host and his wife cooked delishious meals. Their boatman was also a great guide.

Liked all aspects. Was not disappointed at all. We had stayed at Veena Palace 9 years earlier. We were delighted to find the same houseboat and owner, and plan to book again next year.

Mr firdous is the best person i came across so far. Making sure things are in order. He keeps on checking if i like everything. Fees like a home for solo travellers like me

Beautifully located boathouse in the middle of Dal Lake, away from the crowdy area. The host Mr Fidhous made me feel right at home, and even gave me a tour of the old city. His motto: "Whatever you want, you are my guest". Will definitely come again!

Everything. Hospitality of firdous is unparalleled. Right from picking me up from a different location to the food and the shikara rides. The conversations about kashmir and local culture in and around dal lake. Loved everything
