The Briers Country House

Beautiful place to stay and grounds amazing. Very friendly staff and dog friendly which is an added bonus. Definitely returning found the best place to stay with dogs.

Dreadful experience, no staff present to check us in at the agreed time, waited 2.5 hours to be let into room, no response from staff when calling them, the owner messaged late to say they were 10 minutes away then didn’t show up for over an hour later. Worst check in experience ever. The breakfast was bad, very plain.

Hôte très sympathique ! Belle chambre et belle Sdb. Sèche cheveux dans le placard ce qui était sympathique. Belle vue sur les montagnes, les moutons et agneaux !

Location view to the mountains and quiet when no neighbors

Lack of equipment in the bedroom we feel that the 'under renovation apology sign' is an excuse for the lack of maintenance. Eg... Coffee machine still unavailable. It is more a hotel feel than a B&B.

Quiet and peaceful lovely location. Owner a lovely man who gave us bottle of champagne as I had said celebrating birthdays. Lovely view of Mournes from room.9

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at The Briers, using it as a base to hike in the Mournes and to visit the nearby Tollymore Forest Park. The location is perfect. It is a couple of minutes drive from Newcastle. The property sits on a quiet road surrounded by fields and with amazing views of the Mournes. It has a very large garden which is well kept and peaceful to walk around. . There is ample parking. My room was clean and comfortable with great views. And I found it to be very quiet too. All in all, a very relaxing place to stay. The owner was very friendly too

Nothing. The current owner has only been running the place for a few months and has done an excellent job with the property. He has plans to improve it further so I hope this will be a great place to stay for many years to come

Was a lovely place to stay in ,nice and quiet ,lovely gardens and a lovely view of the Mournes, room was great wif tea and coffee supplied, and was spotless the beds were comfy too

Just a few wee things like old furniture if I'm being picky and no information book, the onli real bad thing was the cleaners were cleaning the room next door at abt 8.30/9 on a Sunday morning and were a bit the loud and had the hoover going even tho I heard one of them saying they shouldn't b hoovering till after 11 Wen checkout is
