Casa Palma Hotel

This obviously looks like a low cost motel (old style curtains etc.), no pretending to be something it's not there. But I was very pleasantly surprised about how much they still made the effort to provide little things that much more expensive places I stayed in over this Mexico trip didn't bother to provide. Especially as it's such a prime location 2 blocks from the beach and on Avenida Juarez, they could easily just lean on that for the price. For example, the bed is huge and was quite comfortable, I always check every inch of beds in hotels and this was always clean with no stains, the room was diligently cleaned everyday, the airconditioning was superb, there was a desk & chair and this is the only hotel (of about 6) I stayed in while in Mexico that provided a wide range of cable channels with audio that could be changed to English with no issues. Honestly, have to give them props for trying.

Didn't really use the towels as, unlike the bedding, I kept seeing stains. The corridors were used by large families or groups of people making noise right outside my door till very late. Also not necessarily a negative but this was the first and only place I saw a sign for not flushing toilet paper down the toilet at all. This was extremely odd to me but then I found out it is actually quite common in Mexico. I'm afraid I just couldn't do it. I also didn't see this in any other hotel so I guess their plumbing also is relatively not great? Also took a while for water to get hot and would have been nice to have a sign saying which is which, especially if I have to wait for one of them to heat up.

Location was perfect, so close to the beach, across from Oxxo and so close to ADO bus station. Very satisfied, and extremely good value for your money :)

fan isn’t enough to keep the room cold, very hard to sleep in such heat. sheets weren’t comfortable and the bed quite small for a couple.

we’ll located near bus station; clean hotel. unfortunately there was loud music playing at a neighboring bar until 2:30 am. Didn’t sleep.
