The Oyster Smack

It was very quaint, restaurant had a lot of choice. The room we had was lovely. Very clean and white bedding.

It was on a main road that was very busy. We were given a room at the front. It was unbelievably noisy There was also a bus stop just below our room. When people were saying their goodbyes we could hear every word. I would imagine it would have been much more peaceful at the back The stairwell was a bit dark and needed better lighting.

Having its own front door. Bathroom and shower was nice. Plenty of tea and coffee

Bed was like sleeping on a brick far to hard. Not enough mats to make hard floors a bit cosier. Not comfortable, apart from a very hard bed, not enough comfortable chairs, to sit in to watch television. Definitely not worth the money. Breakfast not included in price. Booked what we thought was a good price for two , then got told had to upgrade, because of dogs, which was fine, but it wasn't made clear on website or booking.com.

We checked in really late after a wedding, to discover the heating had been on full blast in our room even though it was a really hot summery day outside (bright sun and 25 degrees all day). The room was unbearably hot. It was so late that all we wanted to do was sleep, but couldn’t due to the unbreathable stifling heat. There’s no aircon so we had to open all the windows and as it’s on a main road, this then became really noisy. Wouldn’t stay again.

The room was very clean.

It was all superb.

The very high and lumpy pillows and extremely hard -as supposed to firm- mattress. And the breakfast. Didn’t have it. We were told when we arrived that we had to pay for it. £4.25? Didn’t fancy what was on offer. Later when my husband had it he was told it was included on the price. Tea/coffe, cereals , plastic bread, marmalade, jam
