Private En-suite

I loved that this property was entirely self-contained with its own private front door with a key safe, and it was remarkable how much is provided in the one room without it feeling at all crowded. There's a desk/table, microwave, toaster, kettle, teabags, coffee-pod machine, fridge, cupboard of crockery and cutlery, clothes rail, iron and ironing board, chest of drawers, big TV, chairs, big comfy bed, remote control lighting - and the en-suite has a full size bath with a good shower over. Was easy enough to park outside in the street too. Everywhere spotless and everything thought of for comfort.

It was close to where we needed to get to. Private entrance.

It was unfortunate, but the bed was infested with bed bugs. We came into the room to a slight damp smell. The bathroom was clean. Towels were fresh. Bathroom matt probably needs to be washed and dried properly before offering to the next customer. The bed sheets smelt damp. The pillows smelt like someone had slept there and drooled/sweated profusely. However, we didn't have much time and we quickly got changed and headed to our event. Got back very late (1/2am) and slept. My partner woke up around 4/5am to have a glass of water.... only to find bed bugs crawling around our pillows. Of course this isn't something the owner could have known as they probably don't sleep in the bed they are offering. But it did ruin our weekend. A day later, the evidence of bite marks appeared on my partner's face and body. I got away with it. Will we stay here again... no. Will we book another cheap room again.... probably not. The stress and paranoia we felt was not worth the low costs. We spent hours making sure we didn't bring back any to our home. A week later, still no sign of them. We washed everything we had at very high temp cycle. Not an experience I want to re-live. Full refund was offered immediately from the owners, and they were very apologetic. If the bed is completely replaced and a few damp issues are to be resolved, then it would be a good stay.
