River Town Stays

The rooms are clean, so is the bathroom. The resident staff was very polite and helpful, in directions, fetching food, and general guidance. The owner proactively shared the location and advised about the commute to the property. The ac works well. There is a kettle for hot water, and a TV is installed. Water bottles were provided. Very good effort overall at making the guests comfortable. However, please see my suggestions to make the experience even better. The common fridge is useful. Owners can install an automatic washing machine with provision for hanging laundry on the rooftop. The rooftop is a clean open place to relax over a meal or tea, definitely a PLUS.

Location is through narrow dirty lanes, and one reaches through very crowded market area. Daily cleaning and bed making was not done. Though there is a kettle, no tea/ coffee kit is provided. The room doesn't have any view. The narrow balcony attached cannot be used, as it overlooks the roofs of neighboring houses and there are monkeys and flies outside. There could be a string installed to dry out towels and clothes.

The owners are so helpfull and friendly. The room was clean and modern furnitured. It is around 100 mt to mainway..

The location was great, very near to a road so easy for a taxi to drop off. It was also very close to the ghat. We walked along the ghats as it's a lot easier and nicer than the road, which is very crowded and noisy in the day. It was quiet at night, slept very well. Bed comfy. Room clean. Hot shower. Having a kettle was great. Someone downstairs all the time so safe. Sanjay (staff) was lovely, very gentle and made sure everything was ok. Kuldeep owner called and invited us on a temple walk. We met him and his brother, the tour was amazing and something we wouldn't have experienced on our own.. We had a room on the top floor, was good. The balcony isn't really a selling point but we did go up to the roof. Kuldeep's brother organised a taxi to the airport for us, which was great. We didn't use them, but there was a toothbrush kit etc.

The short lane to the hotel is also used by animals and can be dirty, but quite a few of the lanes are like this. So don't let it put you off. It is a bit further to walk to find nice places to eat but the benefits of a quieter location outweigh the walking.

The River Town hotel stay is fabulous for us very close to river Ganga. River side here is clean and own Mr Kuldeep Yadav v friendly took us to many many hidden temple visit which we didn’t expect amazing service , he offered his mom’s cooked lunch. Staff was v friends and helped to arrange tuktuk. Overall stay felt Varanasi is our second Home. I will definitely recommend foreigners to choose this hotel. I am from Singapore I feel more safe and thanks a lot to Kuldeep for helping us in many ways. Deepak and Harshit & Chottu helped us in many ways. Friendly staffs easy access to temples. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends & family 10/10

For first timer not easy to find the place however , if you inform the staff sure they will help u to book tuktuk or they give a bike ride to the hotel.

If you want to imerse yourself in the narrow streets of Varanassi, this accomodation is good value for money. The room is clean with a comfy bed and the tv, a/c and shower all work well. There is a roof terrace but it gets very hot. Breakfast was 'interesting' by Western standards, but Sanjay tried hard to cook omlette and toast. When you see how people live in Varanassi it is really difficult to find fault with any accommodation, however, our bedroom and bathroom were really small with no windows and there was a lot of street noise at night: music, fireworks, hammering at 3am! The area outside of the property is filthy. Our main problem was location. The building is at the far end of the ghats so it's less crowded and probably quieter but the huge disadvantage is it's a long way if you want to see the morning Aarti ceremony at Assi Ghat, especially as all roads were closed during our visit, due to the festival congestion, so no tuk tuks were available. The owner booked us a boat for the tour  at 5.15am, it was half an hour late and then broke down, so we actually missed the ceremony/sunrise, one of the highlights of our visit to Varanassi, which was very disappointing. The evening ceremony finished around 7pm, which meant walking back along the ghats in the dark. Also, there was little choice for hygenic restaurants in the area although the owner did help us order a pizza!

I stayed in this hotel from 16 to 20 of february 2025. Please pay attention that it is not possible to reach the hotel directly in the taxi, you'll need to leave it about 1 km away and it's difficult to find the hotel by your own. But if you call the hotel staff, they will come to take you to the hotel and will also help you to take tuk-tuk if you need it (please remember that it's important to talk about the price in advance, before you sit into tuk-tuk, it should cost about 10-20 inr to reach the hotel). In the hotel's room there's wc and shower (there's both cold and hot water). I had a teakettle, teacup and spoon. The hotel staff found a fen for me when I asked them for it. You receive slippers, towels, loofah and there's shampoo and shower gel in the wc. Together with other hotel guests we were helped by the hotel staff to buy some food close to the hotel. In my case I was helped by the owner of the hotel when I felt bad and he took me to the hospital and 2 days took care of me.

My trip to Varanasi after Mahakumbh was hectic but made special by River town people. I travelled solo from Australia. The staff is extremely polite. Kuldeep is so nice and is always super ready to help. Apart from my decided list of temples, the staff took me to Sankata mata temple and couple more temple which I had no idea about. On my first evening of stay in the guest house I was super tired and didn't have the strength to go out. Kuldeep brought me super nice dinner made by his mum. It was very thoughtful. I was regularly asked if I needed food, help or guidance. Overall stay was comfortable and people are genuinely nice and I felt safe as a solo traveler.

Location is inner streets of Varanasi which was overwhelming for me.

Lovely owner and friendly staff made this a treat . Really great people ! Thanks to kuldeep and his team for making the trip a special one .
