"A home away from home in a lovely South Downs village."

8.0

Location, space, comfort.

Unusable/old tea & coffee jars, unkempt garden without some of the homely touches of other Wish Hill Cottages. Could have done with bigger towels. Confusion over the garbage disposal ie instructions did match colours of bins.

"Cozy cottage in a beautiful spot"

8.0

Location was good. Nice quiet area with a good pub close by. Good access for walking on the downs. Reasonably easy to park close to the property. The bed was comfortable although smaller than we were used to. Beautiful piece of local history.

The main shower could have been cleaner particularly the shower head. The garden is overgrown and doesn't add to the enjoyment of sitting out at the front door. It's a shame because it could be beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped for most purposes but there was very old coffee and tea bags left in the jars which obviously couldn't be used and the kettle still had water in it which shouldn't happen. There didn't appear to be the bins required for the property.

Sweet cottage, bigger than it looks from the outside. Well equipped kitchen & back door leading to a downstairs shower room. Ideal when returning from a muddy walk. Central heating worked well once we turned up the thermostat to 19. If it's cold when you arrive just locate the thermostat on the book shelves & turn it up! Couldn't park on the same road as the cottage on the weekend, but parking on a side street was less than 5 mins walk away. Village pub within staggering distance or lovely walk over the Downs to the Eight Bells in Jevington which has a dog friendly pub with lovely food.

Could do with 2 extra paving slabs on the approach to the front door. The "garden" is not for dogs as the grass & wildflowers were waist high. Perhaps because of No mow May?

"Enjoyed it and hope we’ll be back again"

All perfect. My daughter on a walking stated 2 doors away. I enjoyed a lot of memories. Was born and raised in the area.

Steps up to property. The railings were overgrown and so difficult to get up with nothing to hold onto!

"Disappointing"

5.0

Great location ..safe neighbourhood … comfy bed … it was warm .. free easy parking

Cobwebs in the living room … half inch of mouldy coffee in the coffee jar … no tea.. no sugar … handles on bedroom chest broken off … blind stay in bathroom broken off window … no shampoo or body wash … but worst of all the first time we used the upstairs shower the water poured thru the ceiling into the dining area onto the wooden floor … looking at the floor while clearing it up it’s obvious it’s a regular occurrence… of course we called the cleaner .. and wasted our Christmas break waiting for her to arrive and inspect it … she said to use the downstairs washroom … its a nice cottage but when I pay premium money I. Expect premium accommodation and this isn’t .
