The Nook Lincoln

Loved the quaint little cottage, but felt a bit of a squeeze for four adults. Beautifully furnished and lovely little kitchen with really helpful local information. Such a lovely place

The mezzanine was fine for one adult but wouldn’t fit two up there, and not sure I would want to let children sleep up there alone.

Very tastefully decorated. Kitchen was new and well stocked. Wonderful location between the castle area and the shopping area with a nearby Tesco. The TV had a wide selection.

The stairs were extremely steep, narrow and treacherous. I was able to manage them because I am fit and had a small soft suitcase. My sister who cancelled is 76. She would have had a very tough time. We would have needed to leave her suitcase down stairs. Getting up the ladder to the loft bed would not have been pleasant. I had received text in the morning saying an access code would be sent shortly. None came. We continued to call the owner throughout the day. Finally reached him when we were nearly in Lincoln. It worked out but it was stressful. I don't know if this was a one off experience.

The location was ideal and on the doorstep for the use of the modern shops and also the quaint cobbled streets leading up to the castle and cathedral. The Nook was very modern in furnishings and style and comfortable with all mod cons to use. Clean and tidy with good communication from the owner. A brilliant selection of board games to use, which we did!! Great use of the balcony upstairs with the open door/window. Lots of visitor information at hand. Good use of space.

There were homeless people camping outside the property next door which wasn't great. The outside courtyard could have been cleaned and made more appealing to sit out there. Struggled to use the pin code to enter the property initially but owner helped us out and we eventually got there. Could have been cleaner in the kitchen as I had to clean up some spills on the cooker. On cleaning my cloth was dirty. More towels were required but found a cupboard under the stairs with amenities. Stairs are a nightmare but not much you can do about that. Ladder rail was a bit nerve racking, not sure how safe it was.
