The property is located within easy walking distance from the old town and the sea-front. The old town has numerous restaurants and bars.

There is some traffic noise (though this dies down at night).

Wat een heerlijk appartement. Heel schoon en echt van alle gemakken voorzien. Van een volledig uitgeruste keuken tot een wasmachine. Prima wifi. Zowel in de woonkamer zit een airco als in de slaapkamer. Relatief klein, maar fantastisch tweepersoons bed. Wij hebben hier echt heerlijk geslapen. Persoonlijke kluis voor het veilig opbergen van je spullen. Ruim balkon met veel zon en uitzicht op zee aan de rechterkant. Het appartement zit op de hoogste verdieping en geeft mooie uitzichten op Funchal vanaf alle kanten. Ook de eigen parkeerplek in de garage is ideaal. Gewoon een heerlijke rustige plek om te verblijven. Marcos is bovendien een fijne host. We zagen hem alleen kort bij het inchecken, daarna was hij voor vragen snel bereikbaar. Wij mochten eerder inchecken én veel later uitchecken. Veel dank daarvoor! De locatie is een ideale uitvalsbasis. Niet alleen om het gezellige Funchal te bezoeken (in 10 min. lopen sta je in hartje centrum waar je allerlei leuke ontbijt-/koffieplekjes, restaurants en bezienswaardigheden hebt), maar ook om het eiland verder te verkennen. Uiteraard het meest ideaal daarbij is een huurauto, maar ook Bolt/Taxi werkt prima en is relatief betaalbaar. Wij kunnen niet anders dan Marcos en zijn appartement van harte aanbevelen. We hebben genoten.

Als we dan toch wat moeten zeggen: wat scherpere messen in de keuken is altijd goed.

Great property with all amenities and great location within funchal with free parking. Marcos the host was incredible and extremely supportive offering drop off to car rental on arrival and was accommodating based on delayed flight.

Absolutely nothing

Ruim appartement met een prachtig, met planten aangekleed balkon. Op een fantastische locatie in Funchal: vlakbij veel leuke restaurantjes en de boulevard/kabelbaan.

We had an overwhelming and truly memorable experience staying at Blue Sky in Funchal. The property is private, spacious, and very well maintained, with all the kitchen equipment you could need – even some basic ingredients and toiletries provided, which was a nice touch. Looks exactly like in the booking.com pictures as we know some property pictures are misleading. The location is excellent – just a 10–15 minute walk to Funchal’s main attractions like the city centre, marina, cable car, and Santa Maria Street’s lively restaurants (with disclaimer of returning is uphill, not for lazy legs). Despite being so central, the property still feels secluded and peaceful. A special mention to our host, “Marcos” – incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. When we couldn’t find a tour online, he personally helped us book a private car tour of West Madeira with 25 years of experienced legend, friendly, and wealth of general knowledge guide “Terry” and it ended up being one of the best experiences of our trip. Highly recommended for families, couples, or solo travellers. Would absolutely stay again!

The only thing we wished for was a front-facing balcony view for the Saturday night marina fireworks – though you can still catch a glimpse from the side. 😀
