GBThe pub itself was popular with locals so enabled us to chat with new people. The food was excellent ! A blend of A la carte and pub food to a very high standard. In fact, the chef Mark also gave us a lift to Grosmont station and picked us up later in the day so that we wouldn't need to park our own car at the very busy station on the NYMR.
Every aspect of our stay was very enjoyable, so no complaints !

GBFriendly staff all the way through our stay. The food was excellent , including the breakfast with quality ingredients . The young man cooking the breakfast couldn’t have been nicer . Food was hot and well cooked .
We felt although the room was of a good size it was advertised as De Luxe . We felt it wasn’t a de luxe feel but honestly the cost of it was so good we wouldn’t complain. It was a little dusty in places but the bedding and bathroom were clean so that’s what mattered to us .
GBGBBreakfast was great, if you like full English breakfast and cereal. If not then then there is just toast and jam, although they gave me fresh fruit and yoghurt on day 2 and 3. You can probably make some requests to the pub before you arrive. The staff is really friendly and it is a cosy pub. Food for evening meal was good, also it is made to order and chef is happy to adjust ingredients on request.
We could hear the people in the next room, especially when one of them had to cough a lot. We just turned the volume of the TV up, although not too loudly as we didn't want to keep them awake. Probably not much they can do about it as it is an old building.
