The refurbishment is lovely, but you cannot open the window further than a couple of inches so with the heat wave and only one fan it was dreadfully hot. Two fans may have helped but we were told there weren’t any extras. Otherwise, the staff was lovely and the lift access, and we even ate a couple of times in the old pub. Good location to the quay and the city center.

Lovely hotel with beautiful castle views, great location with the train station close by and excellent staff.

We booked a castle-view room which was unreal. Walkability is 10/10. Room was spacious but not private if you like natural light as there is no sheer curtain on the window. Bed was firm and a bit cosy for two adults. Seamless check-in and check-out.

Best location in Windsor

The staff were lovely and upgraded our room which was kind. However, I have to say the whole thing is quite sad. The hotel should be full of old world grandeur and charm but instead it is tired, untidy and in some places dirty. It could be amazing but needs investment. There is no bar and nowhere for breakfast - we hope someone takes an interest in this hotel and save its heritage 😥

View amazing from castle view upgraded room! You could not get better, 2 windows directly opposite the castle on the first floor! Also a superb silent effective fan kept rhe room cool at night.

The location cant be beat.... perfect for windsor castle, for the train, restaurants and shops The hotel has seen better days but for the price and the location a little dated furniture was acceptable. Staff was great helpful and very accomodating.. i had to change rooms and when i came back my bags.were in my new room... Would go back any time
