The Ardingly Inn

Room was spacious and well decorated, included a long mirror which can so often not be included. Bed was super comfortable and it was a great location to the venues we were attending locally. Lovely greeting on arrival and tasty cooked breakfast. FYI - No fridge or safe, and no wifi - but does have hairdryer and kettle with tea/coffee available in room

Lack of USB plug in points and water in the room, but the staff provided the water on request and graciously let us borrow their charger for a few hours. ♥ The shower hot and cold water was wrongly plumbed in so they were reversed to what's shown on the tap - a relief when realised this and could finally shower :) Also the shower cubicle whilst functional is a tight fit. Not sure that this is bad, but there doesn't seem to be any staff available on site overnight. Pub closed at 9m (weekday) and no food at dinner, which was a shame. I understand its under new management so it'd be good to see some improvements made to a venue with such a lot of promise.

bed was comfortable and clean

the day before we arrived i phoned in advance to reserve a table for evening meal, to be told as they did not have a chef no food was available, breakfast consisted of what was left in the kitchen , on second morning was told only 2 eggs left and no bread for toast, only some white left ,very limited anything else! shower was very basic, hand held was too tight to lift off, and screws hanging out of door handle. had to ask for clean towels on 2nd morning as no house keeping, no tea/coffee was replenished or cups washed, we hoped to stay in hotel on both nights or evening meals, but instead had to go out and buy else where.

Lovely pub hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating. Room comfy. I was going to be leaving before breakfast started, so they left me out cereal, toast and yogurt, milk and juice in a fridge so I could self serve. So kind and unexpected

Friendly welcome, super helpful staff, comfortable room and a great breakfast. Just what I was looking for for my overnighter.

Room very tired and in need of revamp. Pub closed at 9.00pm.

The pub was nice and the barmaid, don’t know her name, was an excellent host.

The hotel side is dated in need of a lick of paint. When we booked we were under the impression that the pub did evening meals. However the venue is apparently under new management and there was no evening meals. Breakfast was included and the chef, Ben, was great and through no fault of his he had no eggs, mushrooms or hash browns. So cooked breakfast was limited to bacon, sausage, baked beans and tomato. Taking into account the price per night we expected better. The new tenants were nowhere to be seen. Not a good start. The stay was only saved by the 2 members of staff mentioned.
