CARI Surf Villas

The location was perfect, right next to plenty of restaurants and only about a 20-minute walk or a quick Gojek ride to the beach. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable, and the pool was really nice. The open-style layout of the villa made it feel spacious and relaxing.

A couple of things to note: because the lounge area is outdoors, there were quite a lot of mosquitos, so repellent is definitely needed. The main downside was the construction next door. It’s unfortunately out of the villa’s control, but the workers could see into our villa and the noise ran from about 8am to 6pm every day, which was quite loud.

Dass neben der Unterkunft eine Baustelle ist, hat man leider erst nach der Buchung erfahren (außer ich habe dies übersehen). Das Wasser im Pool war nicht besonders sauber.

The staff was nice, they tried to help us with everything.

The price is absolutely not worth what you get. There’s a construction site directly above the room — sometimes objects literally fell onto our roof. There’s no privacy, and the work goes on seven days a week from 8 AM to 6 PM. After we booked, the hotel informed us that there would be “minor construction in the area” that would “barely affect us.” That was definitely not the case. On top of that, the whole place is full of mosquitoes, and there was a constant sewage smell in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and tried to clean, but it didn’t help. After two nights we just left. They refused to offer any refund

-Central location - close to lots of nice bars, restaurants and cafes in Uluwatu -privacy of the villa - you are very secluded in the villas which helps give you a private feel -traditional Bali feel- the Villas are designed with a traditional theme, outdoor swimming pool, outdoor dining area,Outdoor bathroom. -staff- The staff were so kind, helpful and attentive. Everyday they would check in on us and make sure the villa was cleaned. Communications to the manager were great with her quickly organising activities and massages for us. - special touches- we were staying as part of our honeymoon and on arrival they had set up a flower message on our bed saying happy Honeymoon and gifted us a bottle of wine. This was a lovely touch from them.

-There was a alot of noise from the construction site next door which started from 8AM-6PM. We were told on WhatsApp by the manager the day of check in that there had been some noise complaints for a couple of days before. However, this site was 3 stories high so the noise must have been happening for months before. However, without asking we were given a 20% discount to use with them on massages, drinks and Surf lessons. - Our Villa had air-conditioning however we felt it needed upgrading to a more powerful unit. The air-conditioning took the edge off the heat but it could get hot still at night and turning down the temperature had little effect.

Everything, beautifully designed, decor, cleanliness, the landscaping and layout of the villas, great for families and friends, it was truly like stepping into a tropical oasis. Such a hidden gem, included toiletries, plenty of pool and bath towels. We wish we had found this Villa beforehand but only discovered it at the end of our holiday so wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be returning there next time without hesitation. Highly recommended, the location is outstanding, close to shops, cafes, restaurants and the beaches. Not to mention the staff were super friendly and so very kind and helpful, looking after out luggage as we had arrived before checkin time. A true hidden gem in the heart of Uluwatu. Fully exceeded our expectations. Thank you Cari Surf Villas, you make us want to return to Bali ASAP !!

There was nothing we disliked, everything was perfect, there was nothing more we could have asked for or needed.

Not much.

We were rather disappointed with the entire experience at cari surf. From check in and throughout the entire stay. The booking process was very misleading. Essentially having to pay twice. This was misleading from both Cari surf’s end and booking.com. Not ideal to have to pay the full amount twice. Check-in was also delayed. Although told about construction, it was so loud and started at 7am, every morning. As it was sharing a wall with the Villa, it sounded like the construction sight had joined us in bed every morning. During the evening was not any better, dogs fights throughout the whole night. Far from the peaceful expectation one would hope for when booking a villa. The Villa was not like the pictures. The floors were dirty, shards of glass being picked up throughout and stains on furniture and curtains. The bathroom smelt of sewage. The whole villa was full of mosquitos, in the bathroom especially. We had to run a coil constantly in the bathroom, which didn’t help and was not ideal. Dirt was also visible all throughout the gardening in the bathroom. The cleaning services didn’t change towels or bedding, simply made the bed and hung towels up, something we could have accomplished ourselves. The ‘clean’ towels were sticky and didn’t feel clean. The furniture was out of date, dirty, not practical and uncomfortable. We dreaded coming back to the villa and spent most of our time away from there. We even considered leaving early and moving. Felt like a villa is Kuta not in Uluwatu.

Rue très passante et bruyante même le nuit. Construction d’un gros complexe hôtelier à côté de la villa donc beaucoup de bruits de travaux également.

we preferred that end of town. a little less busy.

two nights we had all night drilling and hammering. kept us awake. a minor issue overall but some might get cranky..
