Amazing vibe here! This is all what a hostel must be! Very simple accommodation, nice garden in the shadow, 30 minutes walking from the boat to Hampi monuments (5 by scootie)! What’s great here is that it took 5 minutes to be really part of a family, meet great people, and after 3 days there, just left with news friends. Awesome experience ! Thank you so much Sam for your smile, your mood and the wonderful vibe you put in your place! Lot of love from France

A truly fantastic and lovely place to stay! As many reviews have mentioned, Sam is an incredible host who goes above and beyond to create an amazing atmosphere. She’s always ready to help with anything you need, organizing trips around Hampi and keeping her two hostels and all the guests connected like one big family. This is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a chilled and relaxed vibe. I can’t recommend it enough—you’ll feel right at home here

The host was exceptional

There were 4 White man from UK. I also live & work in UK(I'm an Indian proudly and by choice and happy) so chatted with all of them. One white man & 1 other Indian guy paid 550/- INR for the same day & place which they shared with me and showed me the booking o their cell. On check out - I requested Ambika(aka Sam)to settle the charges for 1500/- given the not so good experience we had from the place. Sam accepted right on my face and I Gpay'd her and we left for South hampi happily. Side note: If I would have paid via booking.com they would take their cut and paid her <1618 INR anyway so I did direct payment to keep it simple. Ambika(aka Sam) on 15 Dec, 2024 3PM IST refunded me INR 1500/- back for her own reasons saying I felt undervalued etc. I messaged her back saying we stayed at your place and we owe you. I returned 1500/- back, she again paid me back the amount. Ambika(aka Sam): I felt tried to be over-friendly and sweet is my observation. Her target audience is Foreigners which I understood as soon as I chatted to UK folks as I speak the UK tounge too. Don't fall for the Sustainability thing - When you waste drinking water right under your hood in Kitchen(see above) what is the point of all banners you have put out. It is a marketing gimmick according to me. This is just my experience. It is not to bad mouth the place or any person. Enjoy Hampi travels.

I read 2 links before booking this place. One was a Blog from a white lady and other were google reviews. Booked via booking.com and checked in afternoon 14 Dec, 2024 03PM IST. Ambika(aka Sam) the owner/manager/host was not present at the property when we arrived. We saw & met her only on 15 Dec 9:30AM. Now my experience: I booked from booking for 14Dec, 2024 for 2 people for 1618/- something. I also booked it for 15Dec, 2024 again pretty much for same fare. When we reached the place, Ambika(aka Sam) was not present but she whatsapp'd all details like Bed number, Wifi details and guidance on eatouts, rent bikes, etc. which any host/property manager will do if you visit their place. This is not a hostel - it is a Dorm of 2 rooms with 1 of the size of 10feet * 10feet , other room is 7feet * 7feet with 6 & 4 dorm beds cramped in both the rooms. There is 1 kitchen separate from dorm rooms but it is not very untidy and ill-maintained. Water purifier water leaks on the floor 24*7(and she talks sustainability - I mean what a joke) and it is unhygienic even if you'd like to boil drinking water given it is Winter all around in India. Washroom - 1 common washroom with door which isn't good if you have a female companion or if all 10 beds are occupied then you can imagine the situation on hygiene, etc. Food joints - yes, there are 2 right outside this place good enough for Breakfast, Lunch & dinner so not to worry on that. Location: This place is >20Km away from actual Hampi(UNESCO Heritage Site) so beware. I'd suggest you book your stay in South Hampi to avoid travel hassles. Don't worry there are loads of homestays/dorms in South Hampi too - good and affordable. Now, we stayed from 14 Dec, 2024 3PM till 15 Dec, 2024 10AM IST and moved out given we had our own reasons of not continuing at this place for hygiene, distance (as mentioned above)and our personal decision.
