Maristow Cottages, overlook Tamar Valley Dartmoor

Beautiful gardens and scenery…very quiet, a perfect location to immerse in nature and explore Darmoor and Devon. the hosts are so friendly, trying to make everything perfect.. They gave excellent suggestions about the interesting sights around. Excellent for walks to the river the dam and the countrside. We used this as base to explore Plymouth, Looe, Penzance, Landes End, St Ives and Newquay.

The drive to the property goes through some industrial areas (we were alarmed at first) and then single lane country roads but once you get there it is in the middle of nature with only birdsongs and the sounds of the river.

Our hosts were waiting to welcome us after all relevant information and directions had been passed on to us. The area is idyllic, with all the charm of South Devon. Our cottage was spotless and well equipped, full kitchen and fittings of a high standard. Perfect for wheelchair users with a ramp and wet room. Vicky and Dominic have worked hard to provide an excellent friendly service and we look forward to our next visit.

The weather!

friendly hosts - nothing was too much trouble! great instructions to find the accommodation easily. The accommodation was spotless, well furnished and very comfortable. There were flowers from the garden awaiting and milk in the fridge. The view is stunning, the birdsong was amazing and there are some lovely walks from the front door.

A hidden gem in a rural location where you can enjoy beautiful surroundings, yet still within a short drive from Plymouth. I visited the property for work purposes and I would definitely visit again for leisure purposes with my family. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was immaculately clean with a beautiful outlook. Comfortable beds and underfloor heating. Thank you for a great stay.
