Maristow Cottages, overlook Tamar Valley Dartmoor

The property was exceptionally clean. It was perfectly placed for us, giving beautiful views and lots of interesting walks either through the common or along the estuary. It was a short drive to supermarkets and just a little further on to the town. Our hosts were lovely, very welcoming and made us feel so comfortable. Will absolutely return to this beautiful cottage.

Beautiful cottage set in wonderful grounds of a family home

We loved the beautifully converted Coach House in the quiet and secluded grounds of the house. Vicky & Dominic are wonderful hosts and really make you feel welcome and at home. It is very comfortable, on 3 levels and has very good facilities for cooking if needed. It’s not far to the local pub which is quirky and we had lovely meal (34 mins walk) So near to the moors too with its wildlife, Buckland Abbey and 30 mins by car into Plymouth with interesting things to do and places to visit. We particularly like sitting in the garden under the giant beech tree taking in the view to the river, very relaxing, and the walk down to Lopwell Dam with the sun going down.

Nothing - it’s a perfect annexe of the owners house and run by a perfect couple in a calm and restful spot. There are running streams nearby, hedgerows teeming with wildlife and flowers and it’s on the doorstep of the beautiful moors. Lovely traditional pubs a walk away through the woods.

The Location was wonderful. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The apartment is everything you would ask for - comfortable in beautiful setting, private and done to a high spec. Vicky and Dominic are lovely hosts. Next door you can get fresh eggs for your breakfast, there is a beautiful walk just stones away and the near by pub is excellent!

Very friendly and efficient hosts and communication. Setting of cottage is so peaceful and able to walk around garden which was lovely. Cottage perfect for 2 and well appointed. Guaranteed a good nights sleep. Hosts were available if we needed but never intrusive. Lovely walking from the cottage down towards the river , Buckland Abbey and The Garden House very close by. Would totally recommend as well as stay again if in the area. Plymouth not far as well as supermarkets about 15 minutes drive.
