Country Hideaway at Mountain Lakes Resort

It was close to Helen for New Years . It had and out of the way country feel.

We had no working fireplace , no working hot tub in clubhouse . It was freezing and they had a sign it was closed The heated pool we used was lukewarm . We were told about the fireplace ,but weren’t offered another place with a working fireplace . We were surprised to see another building that had burned and the windows were cracked .On Tuesday evening we had no hot water for nightly baths .

The location was perfect for our purposes. We visited Helen, Cleveland, Sautee Nacoochee, and Dahlonega, so it was a very convenient base. The view from the back deck was beautiful looking over the water. The staff was very friendly, from the guards at the gate to the couple in the office. Everything was nice and clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped for our needs. The diner on the property was also very tasty, with great burgers! Staff here was also very friendly and accommodating. The community and location overall was extraordinarily quit and peaceful, so very easy to relax.

Although clean, the property was showing its age. The upstairs bathroom looks like it originally had wallpaper that was painted over, and part of it above the shower was peeling away from the wall. The fireplace in our condo was blocked off with security tape so we weren't able to use it. I noticed that there had been a recent fire in one of the other buildings so I'm guessing it was related, but it was still disappointing. 2 of the 3 nights of our stay we had to park elsewhere because all of the spots in front of our unit were taken up. There are 5 parking spots and only 4 units in the building so someone was using up multiple spots. The hot tub at the community center was also out of order, so that was another disappointment with the trip.

Well half of things were not open

The place I stayed in was not clean found stuff in the couches beds were horribly uncomfortable. The tv was an old box tv cable kept going out so did electric. And thought the neighbors were in our place the whole time. Because you can hear everything

Furniture very uncomfortable, beds need updating, porches need to be cleaned
