The Lodges at Craigendarroch Country Club

We were amazed by the size and cleanliness of the property we stayed in. The resort is beautifully kept with surrounding gardens and paths. Loved the balcony and the swimming pool at the country club. We ate dinner there also and it was of a high standard and the staff were very pleasant. Would stay again and recommend to friends. A hidden gem in that part of the world. A great base for families

I cannot think of anything that would have improved our stay, other than a few nights more.

Very good value for money. Very clean in the lodge and around the whole site. Great to have 2 en suite bathrooms. The sauna was an added bonus.

Stayed as a family of five with kids between four and eight years old. Beautiful cabin in a hillside/forest location. Close to the Ballater village with local amenities but also the Hilton hotel with the spa, swimming pool and restaurant. Best of both worlds in terms of self catering but also being part of a full service hotel. The lodge is very well equipped with a kitchen, laundry and everything else a family may need. Ballater has a choice of good produce shops and a great butcher and I enjoyed both shopping and cooking experience.

This wasn’t a big problem for us but something to consider. Our lodge had a “upside down” floorplan with the kitchen and living area above the bedrooms. We only had two adults and didnt disturb the kids having a quiet glass of wine upstairs but for larger parties with sensitive sleepers might be a consideration.

The lodge is beautiful and the area is ever so peaceful. The lodge was equipped with everything you need (apart from food obviously) but I was able to cook for my family and clean up without worrying about a thing. I loved that there were games especially our favorite chess and battle ships but there were a lot more! The staff were very kind one lady went out of her way to find me a chess set when I told her my lodge didn’t have all the pieces. We went swimming inside the main building, again the staff were friendly and the pool side and changing rooms were spotless! No matter when we went. We will be visiting again, our 10 hour trip was 100% worth it.

This isnt something that I didn’t like in the property as I stated it was beautiful but I think it would be good to have meeters so you can keep track of the eclectic your using as this is charged when you leave .
