GBFab location, only 15mins drive to Longleat. Quiet and peaceful and the heated hot-tub on arrival was Amazing

GBIt was beautiful, lovely all through and spacious, great decor, great location, hot tub nice and hot, parking spot great.
One of the beds mattresses was so soft, could feel the hard bed underneath. Shower room didn't smell great, horrible damp smell.
GBI was unable to access emails to find where keys and what lodge I was in. HOST was very quick to respond to a message sent via mobile. The lodge was more than expected and very clean and tidy.
Could have been a little added extra of dressing gowns for hot tub would have been a lovely little extra but not essential.
GB- the location & the town - The hot tub
- Reception area had no staff but builders working??? - no one greeted us or checked we had arrived safely - Despite booking.com advertising a 2nd toilet which had been a major factor in the booking, as my fiancé is disabled & there was only one. - The promised lake view was non existent however our front view was of builders rubble, a dirty unswept (& cobbwebby) front terrace (which flooded!) & 2 refuse bins (BIFFA) whose smell & frequent rodent visitors did spoil the romantic getaway which was advertised under your filter. -No garden/decking or furniture. - On entering the lodge smelled distinctly of "cannabis" & we did find evidence of this. - On the first morning (after a tiring drive the previous day) we were awoken at 07:30 by the aforementioned builders starting work in the reception area next door. - The fact we were next door to (an unmanned) reception meant on at least 3 occasions both delivery drivers and new arrivals would enter our ledge causing further stress...... And several more I spent my arrival day chasing the manager, Charlotte who despite several texts, & messages took over 24hrs to get back to me & was no help blaming myself & booking.com!!!!! I then emailed you to escalate the complaint & I was promised a call back within 24hrs... That was over 72hrs ago and still no contact. I EXPECT A CALL BACK WITHIN 24HRS FROM YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT TEAM. I ALSO EXPECT A SIGNIFICANT (50%) REFUND OF THIS HOLIDAY COST. THIS WAS A SURPRISE ENGEGMENT PARTY FOR US BUT INSTEAD SARAH WAS SO UPSET & DISSAPOINTED. MIKE NORRIE

Would have loved an Iron in the property but by no means was this a negative thing
