I liked that the host tried all their best to make us feel home.

"Rustic" rather than "cosy", but very cheap

Dodgy area, door didn't fit the frame, no lock (bathroom), smoke detector vandalised, sofa bed was hard, single bed headboard not attached. Kitchen floor gaffer taped over vinyl. Bedroom window had no usable guard to prevent it fully opening-very dangerous if children around. Dirty oven, cutlery and cutlery draw. Key safe number that we'd been given was wrong. However, correct one given (with an apology) when we phoned the manager.

It was cheap and convenient for one night.

The place is very run down, carpet isn’t secured in the hallway and lino ripped in numerous places. Table and chairs on their last legs, wobbly and unsafe in living area. Flat in poor state, photos looked amazing but heart sank when I walked in. Reminded me of a refuge or emergency type accommodation. One wine glass and one Stella bar glass was the only things for us to use, area where flat is situated is poor. The concrete steps up to the flat smelled like urine and the place just didn’t feel safe at all in general.

The photos on booking need updating from this property. They are misleading regarding the beds. The bedroom had 3 beds on photos but there were only 2 in the room. The living room had a sofa bed and a chair. There were no sheets on the quilt and no visible bedding to use. We were there as a family of 5, to stay after going to kynren. We didn't even sleep here the night! It seemed at the time there was only capacity for 4 people. It wasn't until the next day and scrutinising their photos that we realised the chair in the living room was a chair bed. There was no note from the host to highlight any points which may have needed clarification. The block of flats isn't secure, anyone can access through the downstairs outer door. There is a warning sticker on the building at the back about crime in the area. There were 2 black bags of rubbish on the landing from 2 of the other flats in the block. Our kids didn't feel comfortable to sleep there (and they aren't well travelled kids, happy to see new places). We aren't snobs, we live on a council estate. There was just something about this place that put us on edge. So unfortunately had to drive back to Newcastle with 2 under 10s, getting home after midnight.
