Asanka is an incredibly friendly host, very welcoming and we felt right at home. The price is very fair, the rooms were neat and the food excellent. Staying with Asanka’s family was a wonderful experience.

We stayed at this hostel for three nights and had the most incredible experience, thanks to our wonderful host, Asanka. From the moment we arrived, he treated us like family. A former tour guide and an excellent chef, Asanka was always eager to share his knowledge, cooking skills, and travel tips—completely free of charge. He took us on a memorable sightseeing trip to Galle, stopping at beautiful hidden gems along the way, and even arranged tuk-tuks for us at great local prices. Whenever we wanted food, he was happy to cook for us, and the meals were delicious. The bed and breakfast was fantastic—clean, comfortable, and homely. Asanka went above and beyond to ensure we were always comfortable. He was quick to fix the Wi-Fi, brought us extra fans without hesitation, and even offered us a stay in the air-conditioned apartment at no extra cost. His support didn’t stop when we left the hostel either—he stayed in touch via WhatsApp to help us with travel advice for the rest of our trip around Sri Lanka. His wife, Nirosha, was also incredibly kind and did our laundry with great care for a very reasonable price. Asanka was truly the best Sri Lankan “friend and dad” we could have asked for. Staying here was a highlight of our trip, and we’ll never forget the incredible hospitality we were shown.
